Cost of Doctors consultation in Thailand is not comparable with that in the west.. The last time I went to a doctor in the UK many years ago, it was free on the NHS. Here in Thailand using the state hospital system, it was less than 200 baht.

Every day.

Nobody HAS to use a private hospital. You can register at the local state hospital if you wish and it is not expensive. When I go (not that often) I usually pay around 250 baht unless I have an X-ray or something similar. I use a private hospital for my FBS (fasting blood sugar), INR (International Normalised Ratio) every 3 months and it is quite expensive. The difference is that in the private hospital I am not a patient but a paying customer. I don't buy any meds from the private hospital but from a pharmacy by email.
September 16, 20214 yr How about this, T(w)AT…. First, drop your silly acronyms Second, perform free test on entry Third, no more ripoff non-insurance ? People will flock to your shores. YOU CANNOT STOP COVID!

They should make it even easier than before Covid-19 with less paperwork and, why not?, automatically extend for one year extensions that expired during the pandemic.

They have been extending one year extensions based in the same requirements as before, along with fairly straightforward 'Covid' extensions for those here on tourist/ exempt entries. trapped here Not sure anything 'automatic' was necessary.
September 17, 20214 yr Instead of these boring, samey. nonsensical press releases, that are always wrong.....why is wrong with saying" we will open the borders as soon as we have sufficient data to show that it is safe to do so".

So, they will be one to you quite fast I think. But best of luck.
