Lottery tickets to get bigger 2D barcodes for draw on October 1st

People who play the official state lottery - quite a large number in gambling mad Thailand - will find the government's tickets look a bit different for the October 1st draw.

 

Chief of the lottery office Lt-Col Nun Sansanakhom said that the 2D barcode will be larger, reported Sanook.

 

This will make identifying information easier for both the public and people who buy winning tickets.

 

Many people who win smaller amounts sell their tickets to agents who take a commission, notes ASEAN NOW.

 

It will also further help to guard against forgery.

 

A 2D barcode comes in the form of a square and contains many small dots.

 

The new ones will be bigger and more legible. People are advised to go to the lottery office's website for further information.
