Don't you love it: left foot ignores what right hand is doing or is it left hand ignores right hand....sincerely here I am vouching for one phalange ignores what the next or previous (if any at all) is doing. In a couple of days we have got reports of opening on the 1st of October, then, out of careful consideration pushes it to 15th of October but...wait ...wait ....a certain top brass denied even the thought of it to....a couple of hours later say that the country has to open...but...wait...wait...the CCSA doesn't like to be by passed, so no opening until they say so...but...wait...wait...

Let me not deny it....I love it...it allows me to post and get some hearts and other kind of emoticons in the process ???? ...a win win situation or...

Too many right handers.

Back and forth the reason no matter how much they dream of their targets it never happens!  There are so many people in government like a box of chocolate each morning you don't know who you are going to get?  What we do know is more hot air out of these guys who haven't felt any of the pain their own population has felt.  Just yesterday Anutin said " who came up with this October 1st re-opening date?????

Problem is you've got the tail trying to wag the dog,

TAT want one thing, the government say another and the health service chip-in too.

3 voices and no idea.

Fully vaccinate 70% + then open up with no quarantine.

Thanks for explaining the 3 different dates. Makes soo much more sense now. ????

Why don't the Government put their hands up and just say until all have received the vaccine Bangkok and the Concerned Provinces will remain closed until year end  to outside Country Tourists

People then know what to plan for including  people outside Thailand

Get rid of the paperwork and Quarantine measures for arrivals in The Kingdom for starters

Try to get the touted, monaclonal antibody infusions (one is Regeneron), to treat the infected, and this whole mess will be so much better. Recovered patients will then have natural antibodies. The US govt is now distributing it to all states, since vaccinated people are still getting very sick. The standard procedures are not working. Ventilators do a lot of damage.

Everybody here is an expert so it seems ….most posters already in Thailand are saying keep it closed. Gracious of you.  Donate your pension checks to the starving Thais we so dearly love.  Whilst you enjoy your cheap beer maybe consider that the government will decide whatever… not you or I .  A reduced quarantine, or status quo..but definitely vaccinated only.  Protect the arrivals from the already infected locals should be a concern.

Exactly, the rest of 2021 should be used to get Thailand back in reasonable daily covid case shape and ramped up vaccinations, leave the damn 'tourist' word alone awhile yet........

OK but what about the millions of Thais who are now in survival mode and their level of survival/desperation getting worse by the day?

Here we go.... It's reopening... without reopening.

We had quarantine before (14 days).... We will have quarantine after the "reopening"... If we are lucky... 7 days... In any case, it won't change anything.

Tourists (real) won't come. The high season is... dead.

I'm wondering how many millions destitute people they need, with all the associated social and political problems.... to understand that their way of thinking is a total deadend ?

We can live with Covid. The grotesque terror has to stop. Protect the real virus targets (old and fragile people) with vaccines... And let the vast majority of the population, not concerned by this virus, FREE and let them live normally.

The new variants such as Delta do not simply target the very old and fragile , that is the flaw in your argument.

There will be no complete ' opening up ' until 60-70 % of the population as a whole are fully vaccinated.

That im afraid is still a number of months down the line , perhaps if we are lucky early next year.
