Thailand’s Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha announced three milestones to be achieved to control the spread of COVID-19 in Thailand, as well as cooperation with other countries, during the virtual “Global COVID-19 Summit: Ending the Pandemic and Building Back Better”, which is part of the 76th Session of the United Nations General Assembly.

The three milestones:

  • Inoculation of at least 70% of the country’s entire population this year, which is part of Thailand’s national agenda. The government is also investing in domestic research and development of vaccines and is cooperating with other countries to enhance vaccine production in the region.
  • Increasing the production capacity for medical supplies and equipment. Thailand has been helping to provide medical supplies and equipment to 10 other countries and increasing the capacity of public health infrastructure in nearby countries.
  • Strengthening preparedness against all epidemics within the country, the region, and globally. Thailand also supports the WHO in writing the international treaty for pandemic preparedness and response. The country’s Communicable Diseases Act is also being amended to be in accordance with international health policies, to prepare for future pandemics.

Please note "to be" and not "already"

For reference here in Cambodia:-

"Cambodia has vaccinated 80.15 percent of its population against COVID-19 since February 10"

....... including a fraction of which are members of diplomatic corps, members of non governmental organisations and expatriates who are living and working in Cambodia............ campaign to vaccinate children aged six to 12 started eight days ago on 17 September.

Cambodia has fully vaccinated 64.4%  - not 80.1 %.  John Hopkins and WHO are more reliable than the Khmer Times lol

But the point is  valid that Thailand is way behind its neighbours.

If Thailand has 70 percent of the adult population vaccinated wit 2 shot. well that certainly is not

70 percent of the population, as the children and teens are still not 70 percent fully, 2 shot vaccinated.

Makes, believing the government so much easier doesn't it.   Try again Mr. PM.

Geezer
