E-visa and COE

Have recently applied for my non-O E-visa at the Thai Embassy in London. Everything is now done online, all documents uploaded and now no need to send passport off, with a digital electronic visa emailed to you, you just need to print it off. Quick, easy and straightforward to do yourself, took 4 working days to get the visa.

COE similarly straightforward, just get all the documents together beforehand and don’t forget to hit the upload button when adding documents.

First class service for the RTE in London.

Hi.

Quick question, I'm about to go through the same process using e-visa.

Did you take phone photos of your documents or did you have them scan before uploading?

Thanks.

I just took photos on smart phone using Microsoft lens pdf scanner, which is free to download. For the photo of myself I just took a selfie against a plain background.

As long as any photos are clear and you can read documents , there shouldn’t be a problem. The key one is the copy of your passport data page, as the system automatically extracts data from this.

was very impressed how easy it all was.

Pity they are not renewing Thai passports so easily. Still requires a visit for the RTE to collect biometrics. I can renew my UK passport without visiting  Bangkok (care of agent) with just photos and the old passport but the RTE UK requires an appointment booking 3 mths in advance
