To BITE the Bullet. How many of us are, these days, biting the bullet, and just hoping that things will improve soon, before our lives are ended, even without experiencing any further pleasure, just waiting for the world to recuperate?.

To Bite the Bullet.

To Chew a Bullet.

What does this mean?

To "bite the bullet" is to “accept the inevitable impending hardship and endure the resulting pain with fortitude”.[1] The phrase was first recorded by Rudyard Kipling in his 1891 novel The Light that Failed.[1] It has been suggested that it is derived historically from the practice of having a patient clench a bullet in their teeth as a way to cope with the pain of a surgical procedure without anesthetic, though evidence for biting a bullet rather than a leather strap during surgery is sparse.[1] It has been speculated to have evolved from the British expression "to bite the cartridge", which dates to the Indian Rebellion of 1857, but the phrase "chew a bullet", with a similar meaning, dates to at least 1796.[1]

These days, many of us, no doubt, are just chewing the bullet, and waiting to see if the world will return to half-way normal before we oldsters die of natural causes.

Sure.

I really do believe this.

Maybe you do, too.

In my opinion, it might take another ten years before things get back to normal.

Just the thought of this causes me to become limp, and not even interested in screwing, by which I mean that I have lost my lust, and have lost my libido.

I am sure that it is the same for you.

Even a sexy young thing, for me, after being quarantined for so many months, means absolutely nothing to me.

This virus has definitely affected my libido, BIG TIME.

2 years since visiting Thailand. 19 months since seeing girlfriend. If the Australian Government and Thai Government can just give a double pfizer jabbed individual such as myself a way to go to Thailand without too many hoops, so I can just get back to having nice holidays in Koh Chang with my girlfriend, that would be nice.

Locking up all the people that won't die and might not even have symptoms is IMO a failed strategy, and I've given my opinion on alternatives previously so not going to repeat, but I thought Sweden had it right, except for not quarantining the actually at risk of death.

For some of us, life and life around us didn't deteriorate or shut off.

A half-glass full kinda perspective.

Refusing to conform to the forced upon path might have advantages.

Whether or not she has waited, still, it is guaranteed that she is still as juicy as ever, if only in your own mind.

After being in Thailand  this whole time that covids been here, I can tell you I have met many, who talk about their Teraks in other countries.  Yeah!  They aint been waiting.  I found them to be cleaner, and hungrier (not for food).  It's been a great time for guys like me who stayed in country when everyone else ran back to their countries  in fear.

For me personally, my life hasn't been all that different. a quite life in Jomtien with a partner, not doing the sexpat bar scene or supporting a village in Issan.

A few friends are not around, and not going out for drinks a couple of times a week. Otherwise, so long as restaurants and the condo pool are open, its life as usual.

Obviously, this is home for you as it is for quite a number of fellows - who didn't find the need to run off to wherever in the COVID era.

and every day that passes, I wish I'd been there myself to enjoy it.

PS I didn't run away from the nasty bugs- I had been gone a long while before the world even heard of covid.

Having been in Thailand for the entire Covid Era, if there is anything that irritates me, it's the flip flopping as the situation changes. Gyms are open, then closed, then opened again, then closed again. Restaurants are open for dine-in, then closed, then open again, then closed again. Three times since April 2020 shops have been forced shut. Minor irritations in the grand scheme, perhaps, but irritations nonetheless.

Being one with a little too much empathy, it has been painful to watch shop after shop get shuttered, its owner throwing in the towel. More painful has been watching the sidewalks of Bangkok and Pattaya fill up early evening with folks with no place to sleep other than rough.

I came into Covid healthy and financially flush, and when Covid ends---or we simply come to terms with its Sword of Damocles presence---I'll exit the same way. My biggest problem was boredom; other folks biggest problem was far far worse, so I know I'm luckier than many.

As for normal, I think there really will be a 'new normal'. The world we knew in 2019 is gone forever. Covid is part, perhaps a major part of how the world has changed, but other issues have popped in that say it's all going to be different now, from travel to work to health concerns to xenophobia to politics to business to globalization (or not) to the environment.....

The New World is:

-less globalized

-more vertically integrated companies or with captive local suppliers

-more tribal/fear of 'others'

-much less patient (see increasing incidences of road rage and flight rage)

-less belief in science and more in myth, superstition and the embrace of---even pride in---willful ignorance, kind of Dark Ages 2.0

-less belief in democracy, a greater acceptance of authoritarianism

-smaller cities, as work-from-home and fear of crowded places disperses humanity

-more fear of flying and overall less travel

-an obviously changing physical environment with more floods, droughts, excessive heat and excessive cold, major storms

-even greater migratory flows of people as some economies and environments have been/are being decimated

-a much greater concentration of personal wealth than ever (Bezos, Zuckerberg, Musk, Arnault, Putin + about 15 others are now worth more than half of all humanity combined)

-a much greater concentration of corporate wealth (Apple is now worth more than the top 100 UK listed companies combined)

Humans are adaptable and will adjust, but life is going to be less pleasant than it was, and we likely return to the historical mean that is a lot closer to Hobbes' "nasty, brutish and short" than a Walt Disney world of peace and love. There will be more international disputes, more racism, brushfire wars, armament buildups, the occasional genocide or Rwanda/Cambodia 'incidents, more mass slaughter (the US will share its penchant for that with other nations), and likely a new plague (since 1980 we've had more than at any time in human history----HIV, Hep C, SARS, MERS, Covid, Avian Flu, Swine Flu, West Nile Virus, Ebola, etc.)

I must be a really nice guy. I really despise women like that. When I was on tinder I dated a cosplayer who was also a streamer. She'd get those virtual gifts that can be monetized. I banged her after the first date of course and one day while she was streaming she decided to introduce me as her "friend". There was one of her followers who was going to come from Germany and meet her (a guy in 30's about 10 years younger than me). When I appeared on her stream he started asking me if I'm gay and some other stuff. So instead of straight up telling him I'm actually banging your future wife (they married info provided by Facebook) I actually felt sorry for him and remained polite. Then there was this other girl who was 2 months away from settling in UK with her future husband.

Seriously trash of the earth and it has nothing to do with covid. You can always find women like that and they don't deserve my dck. I went condomless every time and fortunately survived.

I am sure there are many who can't resist the WEBBYB808 charms, or similar,  but my girl is different.

Are you stating that you've been having sexually relationships with forum posters partners whilst they have been abroad ?

You are behaving in a similar fashion to what they behaved in and you need to think about your own actions before you label other people as being trashy

Sounds like a blessing, since they will not reopen Thailand's sleazy entertainment venues [for foreigners].

I don't disagree, but at least I was genuinely single and you don't find about the others on the first date, so maybe your comment is a bit over the top.

Even posting/boasting about "banging other peoples future wifes without a condom" . Are you trying to empower yourself or improve your own ego or something ?

Its a forum, it's covid and even worse I'm married. I'm reminiscing and sharing. I also replied to a poster who posted in similar fashion. Why don't you go after him a bit.

There was a felang whom I used to know who took great pleasure in telling other people that he'd "banged their g/f /Wife.

He used to stand their and tell them and enjoy watching them both feel unconformable .

He often used to lie about it as well .

Lying that he'd "banged" someone .

Horrible insecure little guy with major issues .

The bar girls who he had actually been with used to laugh and wave their little finger at him

I had expected you to say:

The bar girls used to laugh at this guy for waving his little finger at them, before they fell down laughing, and let him in.

Sometimes, bar girls have an amazing sense of humor.

Being a bar girl is not easy.

Sometimes, a sense of humor is all they got left.

Being a bar girl is not easy.

Because, a bar girl must show respect, even on her back, while she tells her client....lie after lie.

Give me more.

I love it.

Harder, Dear.

You must have chosen an expensive one , mine usually tell me to hurry up because my 30 minutes is nearly up and that she would charge by the full hour rather than just extra minutes

I ( and others ) have been saying on this very forum ( before corona ) that nature may be going to deal with human overpopulation, as it seems humans won't.

I, for one, expect another, and another, and another after that, till we stop destroying our environment.

I do believe that the planet is a living organism ( Gaia ) and that she has had enough of us behaving badly.

Wish I could have had some like that. Mine rarely showed any "respect", and never pretended that it was better than it was.

Mind you, I wasn't there to make them happy.

Anyway, however meaningless it was, it was several hundreds of % better than what I had from my western partner.
