You probably know of the story concerning Icarus who flew too close to the sun and burnt his wings. Is there a similar expression or concept in Thai?

Posted

There would be.

You will have to ask a Thai native speaker what it is as it may be nothing like what you think.

As an example (and my avitar) 'It's like talking to a door.'  But in Thai the expression is "playing a fiddle to a buffalo".

Yes, I agree there probably is but it's a high-level question and not easily answered. So what does playing fiddle to a buffalo mean then?
