Yes....  Part of the Entry Requirement for Bangkok arrivals from 1st Nov is that the Mor Chana App is downloaded on your smart phone. 

 

If someone doesn’t have a smart phone then that leaves a ‘grey area’ - the wise move is to ensure you have a smart phone (even a cheap one).

OK thanks Guys. Got a Smart phone, iPhone 6s recon - just need to learn how to use it now. ATB

When arriving in Phuket (don't know about BKK), they are quite helpful in assisting downloading of the Mor Chana app there.  You can do it ahead of time or simply wait until you arrive there.  I'm guessing BKK would be equally helpful.
