Japanese man arrested for selling substandard medical equipment to US, Switzerland

A Japanese businessman, who is accused of selling about 200-million-baht worth of substandard medical gloves and equipment to customers in Switzerland and the United States, has been arrested by officers from the Consumers Protection Division at a hotel in Bangkok’s Ploenchit commercial district.

Thailand’s GDP for Q3 contracts 0.3%, forecast to increase by 1.2% for whole year – NESDC

Thailand’s economic gross domestic product (GDP) shrank 0.3% during the third quarter, compared to an increase of 0.1% during the second quarter and 7.6% during the same quarter of last year, mainly due to belt-tightening by consumers in the wake of a surge in COVID-19 infections, said Secretary-General of the National Economic and Social Development Council (NESDC) Danucha Pichayanan Monday.

BMA Allows More Restaurants To Serve Alcohol Under “Thai Stop Covid Plus” Certification

BANGKOK (NNT) - The Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA) resolved to ease more restrictions on restaurants serving alcoholic beverages under the "Thai Stop Covid Plus" certification campaign, in addition to the previous certification of the SHA (Safety and Health Administration) granted by the Ministry of Tourism and Sports.

Trang province set to request Cabinet approval for 4 development projects

Thai Airways posts earnings after debt restructuring, assets sale

Thai Airways International (THAI), the country’s flag carrier and largest airline, reported a net profit of 51 billion baht for the first nine months of the year on Monday. It was a drastic turnaround from the 49 billion baht loss from a year earlier.

Thailand Pass is being upgraded but passenger stress stories continue with cancellation threats

Prime Minister Prayut Chan ocha (left) has expressed satisfaction with the latest number of tourist arrivals up to last Saturday since the country reopened on November 1st. However, there are still concerns about the operation of the Thailand Pass entry system with government spokesman Thanakorn Wangboonkongchana (right) this week acknowledging the problems but also urging travellers to allow 7 days to obtain the QR entry codes when making arrangements.

 

A UK man with a wife who was seeking to visit her terminally ill mother found the Thailand Pass application extremely stressful this week as officials announced an overhaul of the online system.

The government says truckers demands are impossible as protest intensifies
