Bangkok – A social independent group “Charoen Porn”, led by Thai Onlyfans star “Khai-Nao” and pro-democracy supporter Tanat “Looknut” Thanakitamnuay has officially submitted a petition to the House of Representatives to amend laws and legalize pornography in Thailand.

The petition, with about 20 signatures of prominent petitioners, was handed over to Dr. Sukit Atthopakon, Advisor to the Speaker of the House of Representatives, proposing a draft Act on the Criminal Code amendment relating to pornography and obscenity.

Group representative Attaphol Khaithong stated that the group is demanding the amendment of Section 287 of the Pornography Act in order for Thai society to distinguish between morality and obscene art forms.

“Entertainment media and sexual media should now be clearly separated for specific purposes and groups of consumers. But currently, the law is there to oppress the obscene media, claiming that it was against the law and Thai morality,” he added.

I wonder why its pornography and not prostitution.

It’s the same. The existence of a camera could be, in short, the only difference between pornography and prostitution.

Pornography really only  needs one active  participant and a camera and prostitution requires two or more participants and no camera?

Pornography can also be conducted in private unknown space.

Yes, there are many pressing issues. But ever issue should be voiced but is actively ignored and even suppressed in a military lead authoritarian system. Now is the time

Some people can laugh and chew gum at the same time!

...surely there are more pressing issues?

Doesn't "porn" mean "good luck" in Thai? Everyone should be allowed to possess good luck!

So if I turn up with a camera, they will pay me? Sounds great.

The government has clearly stated the latter does not exist..  and the chances of the former being allowed is about the same as Prayut getting voted out before Christmas.

It's a bit like the Olympics, the majority watch while others participate.

Perhaps in a parallel universe, however bring your own fluffer

If successful does that mean we can ditch the VPN. Asking for a friend.

Thai people absolutely do not have sex. It's an entire nation of Immaculate Conceptions.

Shame wanting to allow porn in a country that does not have prostitution according to the Government. Time to completely ban alcohol as this weakens the will of good clean living people.

I’ve noticed all the thai “only fans”arrests recently have been women - but plenty of thai guys doing it too.

Needs to be legalised asap it’s 2022 nearly and nobody getting hurt.

This group monetises their website which has in some instances member adult content. My opinion is that this is a commercially oriented petition and nothing to do with the broader subject of prostitution.

I now have ANOTHER reason for upgrading my camera!  I'll need a business card too (Porn Producer and Filmography) but damn I'll have to change my VISA to one that allows me to 'work'. Question:  If I don't charge for filming porn is that considered work? ????

No, anybody can not watch porn in TH.
The majority of porn websites are blocked and can only be accessed if you have a VPN service.
Completely agree on the other three items.

I applaud those returned bar girls in our village who retreat to their rooms early in the evening, not to be seen until the next day. Whatever it is they do in there, it then results in them heading into town, and coming back with bags of groceries.

In contrast, others stomp around scowling all day, complaining that they tried to sell meatballs for a few hours in the morning, and only got a few baht. Though they're not putting their hands out, they do this knowing full well it results in their 70 year old grandparents digging into their pockets.

That's great will be able to watch a porn vid while having a vape
