To enhance the standard of living for people through digital technology, 15 areas have been earmarked for the government to implement the development of smart cities. A meeting was held of the National Smart City Steering subcommittee, chaired by Deputy Prime Minister recently.

The meeting was attended by the Ministry of Digital Economy and Society, Smart City Thailand Office, and Digital Economy Promotion Agency, among other related representatives and agencies. During the meeting, the group certified 15 locations to be implementation areas for smart cities. The logo for smart cities was designated for each of these 15 areas that will receive support from the Thailand Board of Investment including promotion and financial aid. In addition to those 15 cities, 50 more smart cities across Thailand will be designated as promotion areas.

The idea of using digital technology in smart cities to improve people’s quality of life is part of the 13th National Economic and Social Development Plan, which was mentioned as a component of the 5 points that the PM pushed for Thailand to focus on.

To raise the standard of living, Thailand needs the Army completely out of politics and private business.  Let the People govern their Country.  All the Tech gizmos and fancy announcements will further enrich a few wealthy Hi-So and that's it

And that's just the beginning!

Education next!

Real changes needed immediately.

If nothing changes then the leaders have failed.

Well if you can edumacate the kids and make them smart you might as well try making a city "smart".

The logo part is easy. The committee formation part is easy. GEtting anything done? MEh, not a local strong suit.

This one has the stench of failure. But let's revisit in a few years.

Most people confuse standard of living with quality of living. Some countries have a high standard with all the gadgets but suffer from low quality like worrying if their kids will be shot at school every day. Low stress, good food, time to relax leads to good quality of life.

The only thing they are interested in is bolstering their Bank Accounts and Off Shore Holdings/Interests.   They require the General Public to stay uneducated and ignorant in order that the Plundering can continue.

I've had that view of people in government for a long time, I try to shake it off now and then, imagining that I've been too much of a cynic, but it's just so obvious that I can't believe people believe it themselves, it's just so OBVIOUSLY BS!!

There's an interesting article in the capitals newspaper from the 14th Dec, regarding crypto regulation in Thailand, and judging by the content of the regulations, it seems that there's a certain limit on how much of a boost the citizens of Thailand will actually be allowed to boost their standard of living with, such as not being able to use crypto as a means of payment, not sure what they see it's use for then, perhaps they're running scared? Doesn't seem very 'Ministry of Digital Economy and Society, Smart City Thailand Office, and Digital Economy Promotion Agency' to me ????
