The Thai Meteorological Department reported a slight temperature increase in most parts of the country this week, from December 20th to the 26th.

In general, the high-pressure system which covers upper Thailand will weaken this week, causing a 2-4 °C increase in temperature with morning fog in the upper country. The westerly trough will pass over the North, the Northeast, and the Upper Central parts of Thailand, causing isolated thundershowers in these areas.

The northeast monsoon prevailing across the Gulf of Thailand and the Andaman Sea will weaken, resulting in less rain in the lower South. The wind and waves in the Gulf of Thailand and the Andaman Sea will also weaken. 1-2 meters are forecast in the Gulf of Thailand and about 1 meter in the Andaman Sea and above 2 meters in thundershower areas.

In the northern areas, cool to cold air with morning fog are forecast on the 20th and the 21st and a 1-3 °C increase in temperature and isolated rains are expected from the 22nd to the 26th. The minimum temperature is at 10-21 °C while the maximum temperature is at 26-33 °C. Cold to very cold weather with frost on the mountaintops is predicted with a minimum temperature of 4-12 °C.

In northeastern Thailand, cool to cold air with morning fog and a 2-4 °C increase in temperature are forecast throughout the week. The minimum temperature is at 13-21 °C while the maximum temperature is at 27-33 °C. Cool to cold weather on the mountaintops is expected with a minimum temperature of 8-12 °C.

In the central part, morning cooling with fog, a 1-3 °C increase in temperature, and isolated rains are forecast throughout the week. The minimum temperature is at 17-23 °C and the maximum temperature is at 30-34 °C.
