Would be better used for keeping the Thai pass open and free quarantine and testing for tourists about to spend 100,000 's baht in the thai economy
ChrisP24
That actually sounds like plan that is already well-established - - the more you spend the more you get stimulated.

Aussieroaming
I wonder if the money disbursement is audited to ensure that it isn't syphoned off.

I'm sure the disbursement process will follow the standardized Thai checking procedure. 40% will go MIA and end up on pallets in the basements of the usual suspects. 5% will be misappropriated and some lowly miscreant civil servant will be arrested and held up as the sacrificial scapegoat to cover the 40% MIA money. Half of the remainder will get to where it was supposed to go - the rest will fall between the cracks and nobody will go looking for it. Same, same really. This is actually a very smart package which is widely used by many Thais. Participating vendors are often soughted out by participating customers. Timely populist policy. djayz
I've spent a fair bit these past few weeks here in Thailand but still don't see any 50% kickback for me.

Many of these stimulus schemes (food, travel, shopping etc.) in 2020 and 2021 were rife with fraud and corruption, with thousands charged.
