If foreign pedophiles are still coming to Thailand it is because the country is providing a suitable environment. So just blaming foreigners is not addressing the root of the problem - the problem must be endemic to Thailand and that is whereto focus should be.

Thai society has been built by Thais.

Anybody who has taken the trouble to find out the socio-political history of Siam/Thailand knows exactly what sort of a place it is.

The wolves are running the chicken coop.........and the chickens have learned it's healthier not to "notice" anything.

Because of that it attracts many pervs, thieves, conmen and shysters from around the world.

"It's a great place to do business"...........for them.

As the literary quote goes:

"If you build it, they will come"

Saddam Hussein’s sons executed people using a wood chipper machine. If they didn’t hate the victim too much and wanted to show the victim a bit of mercy….they would put him or her in head first and push them in fast.

If they REALLY hated the victim…they would put him or her in feet first..and feed them into the machine slowly.

and you are mentioning them as possible role models in Thailand?  :cheesy::cheesy:

Penalties for farangs are harsher than for Thais, because of the eventual deportation factor. This old nasty piece of work will struggle, given his age, back in his country of origin, that is if he doesn't croak whilst in the slammer.

The retribution which will be dealt out by the Thai justice system calls for mass publicity within the expat community particularly, "pour encourager les autres"!

If he is guilty and serves a term however long, THANKFULLY when he is released and deported back to the U.K. he will serve a further term and if he lives long enough to be released his everyday activity will be monitored by an ankle bracelet and daily reporting to the police, but this is still not enough, methinks he should be fitted into a concrete box and floated down the Mekong with just enough air for 24 hours.

Any foreigners and pedophiles involved in child sex should be routed out and jailed then deported

Don't need these sort  people here in Thailand

Well we would rather not have this one back in the UK, thank you very much! ☹️

Which do you think is worse? The pedophile who has sex with children or the parent who sells their own child to a pedophile?

Much as I am against pedophiles, they are mentally ill at least. The parents are a different matter. Selling your own child to be raped? That just has to be the worst. If such parents were not forthcoming, offering their children, then there would be fewer children being raped by pedphiles.

I hear you loud and clear.

That said, it is fact here that a lot of Thai families send their kids to Bangkok, Phuket, Pattaya, or used too should I say, pre-pandemic to the red light districts to sell themselves to support the family and hopefully catch a farang to support them into the future, age to most of them doesn't matter as it's a number, sure it's cold, an understatement, but put desperation and little education into the mix and you end up with what you end up with, disaster for the kids, call them adults as well if you like, but a lot of them haven't developed, let alone been outside their villages to big Cities, but will be taken in by an Auntie or Cousin who is in the game, or a friend of a friend to help them start off.

I am totally against it, however it is a part of life here that is not really disgust in society, yet accepted as the norm, and rape here is not only carried out by farangs, from what I have read, it's deep rooted into the Thai culture as well in some instances, pretty f'd up if you ask me.

This doesn't make sense.

Probably from the way I rushed the wording.

I meant cement shoes vs jail time, leave the cell door open and tell him he is free to go, then when he leaves, grab him, put his shoes on and then help him disappear with his new shoes on.

surprised that he can still have sex at 82 . perv.

Not really about sex, more to do with power and control. They confiscated whips according to the report.

I read a report in Newsweek some years ago about the sex tourists in Thailand, where foreigners openly sat at bars with preteen children.  Complete with pictures of the children with their "clients". That dated back to the eighties if I remember correctly.  Obviously that isn't the case now and it is much more covert these days.  . there is nothing new here.

But it does beg the question...

Where are the NGO's and charities that are there to protect the children and root out the offenders.?  Very high profile in countries like Cambodia, the Philippines and Africa but rarely spoken of in Thailand.

They should arrest anybody who messes around with children.

According to what I hear that is absolutely not unusual with Thais and especially stepfathers. And often the mother knows what is going on.

Lots of people know but it seems very few care.

I agree 100% . Sadly all over the world. But on the internet and make money, bring back the stocks and death for those bast####.

In Afghanistan and Pakistan buggering young boys is normal.  (I presume this passes as "child abuse" in your eyes.)  They call it "bacha bazi" which translates as "boy play".

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bacha_bazi

Easier to look closer to home, just about anywhere with Catholic priests for instance.  Pedophilia is alive in just about every country in the world.  Always has been and unfortunately, probably always will be.  This really is a (deleted) up world we live in.

It's a terrible story to be sure. Good work by the bib.  They must charge the parents as well.

As an aside isn't interesting how a law can be written or repealed and based on that people decide what is either sick or not? Being gay was and is still illegal in places. People said it was sick now it's normal? And there are no international standards on ages or behaviors either. One of the girls on this story was 17 but that's legal in New York even so that act would then not be illegal or sick if it happened there?  And legally consenting adults can't engage in pay for play? Ghandi who was known to bed young girls is a national treasure? In Tanzania, Muslim and Hindu girls can marry at 12 as long as the marriage is not consummated until the girl reaches the age of 15.  Do you really think they wait? Do other countries do business with them? What a bizarre world or morals and politics and corruption. It seems we all agree here I wonder why the people in power don't always.

Funny how everyone hates 'Big Joke'. Even when he does something good (like ridding this country of pedos), he's hardly given credit for it. The headline for this article in Naew Na is 'บิ๊กโจ๊ก'ลุยหนองคายนำทีมบุกจับเฒ่าอังกฤษล่วงละเมิดทางเพศเด็กไม่เกิน 15 -- "'Big Joke' goes to Nong Khai, leads the team to catch an old Englishman for sexually abusing children up to 15" -- but ASEAN NOW drops "Big Joke" from the headline. Why is that? I'd go with "Big Joke Busts Brit Pedo In Nong Khai"

The caption was more salacious:

In this story the salacious caption featured "Big Joke", child porn, human trafficking and "thao meuang phoo dee" - old man from the land of gentlemen, a term for British people.

Whilst I abhor these actions it was fairly normal in 1968 here to be offered a very young lady.

(The opium dens still open then )

32 years ago I was accosted 3 times one night with the same offer in a very well known entertainment area by their Mothers, which is still alive & well. (I actually have a bit of a thing for older women) so was falling on deaf ears.

As to parents offering their kids, the Government has a role to play here as well. With no social security to speak of

it must be tempting when have a starving family to feed & some farang offers enough money to feed them for a month, also many of the 12 & 13 year old kids are in on it as well with the parents.

Cambodia of course is worse in that as little as 5 years ago my friend was offered a young lady

that for $200 he was able to strangle her during the sex act. He ran away.

It is easy to judge with a full belly, hope, money in the bank, a job  & a "Nanny State Government behind you
