TPDH
Hi I’m in Thailand on a 1 year marriage extension and in 7 weeks I need to extend it by another year. I just realized that my bank account balance has gone below 400K THB to 240K THB. I'm thinking this is a problem because I need to have 400K+ THB for 2 months before I apply for the extension. I have no income so I can’t use the income rule. I’m in Bangkok. Will they deny the visa extension because I’ve only had 400K+ THB for 7 weeks and not for 8 weeks as required? If yes, is there a way to solve this? I’ve already used my 30 or 60 day extension last year as well as the COVID extension they had so I guess I can’t use any of those again. Thank you. 1

Popular Post DrJack54
First up it's 2 months not 8 weeks. You could obtain a covid extension. They should be continued past Jan 25. Could go to immigration and explain why you need the covid extension..

Are you still able to add enough money to make it the required 400k? If yes, top it up now, ask for a covid extension soon after the 400k is in the bank account, once the 60 day covid extension over you should be able to meet the bank portion of the marriage extension. Is it possible to get it twice? Yes, you can have multiple covid extensions, especially if you tell them you need a little more time to meet the marriage/bank portion.

Is it possible to get it twice? Should be possible to obtain while still available. Did not come with any caveat re number of times can obtain. Yes recently some vague statement of tightening the screws. Why. In any event Omicron on scene. Clearly covid extensions will continue. That was for extension based upon retirement but it was changed to 2 months for every extension in March of 2019. Lite Beer
You can get a 60 extension to visit your Wife. this would give the time you need.

Ask around on facebook expat groups for referrals. I commonly use agents to get around this because I cant stand dead useless money sitting around losing value. Obtain one prior to Jan 25 (even though they will be extended) Several reports of doing exactly that for various reasons on funds not being in the account for 2 months prior. In your situation no need for agent.
