DonniePeverley
Once the chinese indicate they will allow travellers, i doubt they'll even request they do a test on arrival. Infact most likely thai officials will have to test for chinese tourists.
huangnon
Should be renamed "Test & Go; Stop - Go". I wonder if insurance companies will now pay out for asymptomatic tourists having to undergo hospital stays for the flaky PCR-positive test if found on arrival?

DLock
I know 2 people that just missed out on Test n Go, and changed plans to do the Phuket Sandbox in early February. They booked their flights, paid for hotels and PCR tests, and applied for the Thai Pass and was granted... ...and today, they may go back to Test n Go. I wonder if those 7-day hotel bookings and flights will be able to be cancelled. Poor sods.

Popular Post vVDB
Seeing the problem only from the point of view of hospital occupation is very simplistic. Even asymptomatic people have sequelae... Omicron already has babies BA.1 / BA.2 / BA.3 The only thing we know is that BA.2 is in India and that it seems more contagious because it has become the majority in Denmark. 2 1

The rule should also be enforced for them, not just locals and us expats who are.

spidermike007
Stop the astonishing degree of cowardice taking place within this administration. Man up, and do something to help your people, for a change. Admit this is not as bad as you thought it was going to be, when you panicked and shut down, yet again. Be courageous, and admit this is NOT the Zombie Apocalypse. You have destroyed the economy, ruined lives, caused suicides, wreaked havoc, and move Thailand backwards. Popular Post Oracle2022
I think they need to hold back on the Boosters........ Israel, the most vaccinated and boosted country in the world, now has the highest Omicron infection rates. There is concern that then Booster shots are weakening the immune system.........doing damage and making it more likely to get infected. Two shots, 12 weeks apart.......seems to be the best and longest real protection (T cell immunity). Boosters just boost antibody immunity and are perhaps not really helping long term, to the point they may even be weakening the complex immune system long term. Test and Go with a second PCR test after 5 or 6 days runs the real risk of getting infected in Thailand during days 1 to 5......and then being locked up as your positive. This will be very off putting to most people. They should and they must allow self isolation in hotel or at home......and stop this mandatory "prison like" lock up if positive. Omicron is now less deadly than Flu..............this is borne out by data all over the world..........so why are they scared of Omicron ?

Is it really about zero covid, or is it about move governmental control, more excessive oppression by Xi, and more nonsense? Unrestricted international travel will return here, at some point, and it will be far too late. Expect no more than 5 million tourists a year, five or six years from now. I (again IMO) predict that countries like UK will soon offer an annual Covid booster alongside one's annual 'flu shot
