buy only COD

never buy expensive brands as there are many fakes {even iphone 12!]

COD yes , but fakes are pretty easy to spot . If i see something , i check other items in the shop and possibly also the shop location / streetview . There is also the thing , do not expect to pay peanuts for a caviar item . There is many types of shops on both , some specialist shops , some just a bunch of goods . Avoid shops which do just a bunch of good in different categories if you do not want a fake or cheap item . For example if you want to buy a gpu , buy it from a computer shop , and yes they are on shopee and lazada .

I got preference on Lazada , but that's just because i'm used to how their system works and they were much faster with a English version of their website .

MOST traders on lazada are honest, but there are few rotten apples that destroy for all the others. the problem lies with lazada management - they do not punish or kick out the crooks.

that is why you can find a fake iphone12 , fully priced,  besides a genuine one. no warning or note in the fake one that it is fake. when you discover it is too late and you will lose either a lot of time , trying to get your money back, or your time and money.

I've never had a problem with Lazada. As many have said...it's not hard to spot fake dealers. I have purchased two mid priced mobile phones from Lazada dealers and it's not hard to tell who has a legitimate shop. No issues whatsoever. I only even ever browse Shopee because they carry a more extensive range of guitars (my hobby) and again not hard to vet dealers....usually only a handful of reputable shops you see everywhere....do they have an independent website ? What about reviews where people have posted real pics of products received ?  Happy shopping

I laughed at your comment ........   the problem with these vendors is they are not screened enough prior to joining,  Lazada & Shopee have zero  QA/QC  in process.

Most of their items are junk as the parts inside are all cheap chinese c_rap.   The factories have zero quality checks so your buying junk.

COD is possible,  however you cannot open the box at delivery to see what your getting anyway so if it's fake you will still have to pay up.

What are most items you buy on Thai market or in a Thai shop ? The same Chinese c_rap ,as you call it . Like i said , do not expect caviar if you are paying for peanuts . Know the prices , a cheap plastic item costs nothing , but something with a decent amount of technology to make (  not only electronics ) , does does a certain amount . You can't find a McIntosh amp at 5000B , or a Rolex for 20.000B . Sorry that ain't happening . Try find it anywhere in the world , miracles do not exist , you believe in religion or not , doesn't matter , they just do not exist . I go further , you can buy many wood items in Thailand , sometimes for a few 100s , other times it does cost a few 1000s or even 20k or more . Did you ever expect the same quality on the "few100s" type then on the 10k type ? They might look similar on the pics...

It is the same like in every shop in Thailand , you check the quality in front , since you know warranty is useless . We all learned by mistakes , but if you bought a few items ever before you should know . Lazada/Shopee gives you plenty of choice of items , which before were very difficult to get or 100s of km away now finding them at a click away . They are certainly not all legit or give you something you expect to get , but imho it is just the same like in normal market , but with much more choice .

even if im on ko tao they will send cod? i would think they would prefer to ship to bkk versus ko tao as shipping costs would be lower.  i mean a 10kg item must cost more to ship to ko tao versus bkk. and especially cod. where u might refuse it.  how doe cod work .  the item shows up and you pay cash?  i suppose in one way that works better for lazada as they dont incur the credit card fee

I laughed at your comment too as i have send back stuff that was fake and stuff that was dead on arrival. I have always gotten my money back. They even came to collect the parcel themselves.

Of course you need to use some common sense yourself before buying stuff online. Like going through some of the reviews or questioning certain prices. Too cheap can mean junk.

Really bought 1000+ items almost no problems and the problems that i have had were resolved. But I don't try to buy the cheapest stuff available especially if its far cheaper then it should be.

I only buy genuine items and I bought over 1000 items on Shopee and Lazada combined and never received a fake unless I intentionally bought cheap earphones or some cheap gadgets.

For mine, and the vendors protection, I always make a video, while opening every package I receive.

As far as fakes, some things are obvious, others not so.  Again, wee bit of research on manufacturer's site, and or basic Google search will help sort them out.  As you would with any product, on or off line.

Duracell for instance, does NOT sell products in Thailand.  Some items are counterfeited to the point, that their are sites to help you spot the fakes.  Many of the higher tech items, such as SanDisk, Sony, LG, Panasonic ... etc etc products will have site to register their products, which will tell you if fake or not.  Fakes are easily refunded, if wanting.

Listings with stated warranties or not, product warranties, if worldwide warranties.  Again, I'll always try to order anything of higher value / price from 'flagship' stores or LAZ Mall vendors.

If very expensive, and not flagship, then I'll avoid, and simply go to manufacturer's site, such as Sony camera equipment.

Many things are massed produced by one manufacturer, drones for instance, and simple 'badged / rebranded' as another brand.  Very common with appliance, and take on of exact model #s, as may be cheaper since discontinued.  Simple research along with YouTube vids help with this.

Again, all your shopping should include this research, cross checking of sites, whether on or off line shopping.  Falls under the uncommon common sense most should be using.

And...if it sound to good to be true .... well, nuff said.

Like quinoa, whole rye flakes, dates, green tea powder, organic rice cakes, and even some supplements. Have also bought blenders, tech equipment, etc. They are quite good.

Terms&Conditions are flagrantly abused, especially by Thai based swimming pool shops. Never buy pool equipment from other than a recognised supplier, hem preferably from their own online store - if they have one.

Never order at the first price you see. The price differences between tgevendors can be totally rediculous.

Obtaining refunds from Lazada is a long and laborious process - even if it works. Especially if you live a long way from the nearest return drop off.

Some products delivered from local Thai stock arrive very quickly. Tey re sent from and by genuiine Thai companies. Anything else can sometimes take weeks, arrives damaged, and is poorly packed in thin, grey platic bags with little protection. Always select COD for such items, unpack on delivery and id broken ir incomplete, refused the deliver, even if the van driver says he can't take it back.

Yes, COD is not problem.  Prefer LAZ over Shopee.

I'm the same.  I tend to prefer Lazada over Shopee, but Shopee occasionally has things I can't get at LAZ.

As far as COD? That's the only way I order now.  I used to make bank transfers but stopped after I made an order that took over three weeks to deliver.  The seller simply would not ship the item and they were unresponsive to 'chat' messages.
I didn't want to cancel as I probably would have had problems getting my money back.  I got the package a month after ordering.
So now?  I buy everything COD.  If I need to cancel it's not a problem as no money is involved.  If the seller ships after I cancel, I keep a paper trail printout of the cancellation and just refuse the package (I've had to do that before).
It's all just easier to do via COD.

In site search engines are terrible.  If finding an item you like, search same on Google, and add 'lazada.co.th' to the search.  Same with Shopee.

Great suggestion!!! Thanks.  Use Advanced Search an place lazada.co.th in the "Site or Domain" field.  Why didn't I think of that before?  Duh. :thumbsup::thumbsup:

That's another thing I've not considered.  Staples like quinoa.
I have to drive to Chiang Mai to buy the ghee that I like.  The price plus shipping is cheaper than what I buy in Chiang Mai.
I haven't priced quinoa for awhile.  It looks like I might be less expensive than I could buy at a Chiang Mai health food store.
The quinoa I've seen in CM are in small packages and really expensive which is why I don't buy it.  Lazada prices are reasonable for sure!  Thanks!  Learning all sorts of new stuff today!

I buy all my green tea bags in the US. A Taiwanese company called Tenren. Amazing quality. Can't find it here.

I buy bulk green tea on ebay. Either free shipping of relatively low shipping, direct from Chinese growers or distributors. Around $60-80 a kilo, for very high grade pearl Jasmine, or similar grade. No issues with customs. Far higher here, if you can find it.

The green tea powder I use for matcha drinks. And frozen matcha. A nice kind of dessert food. I like Choui Fong. Reasonable and good taste. Pure. No additives or sugar. Easy to find on Lazada.

I was considering growing some tea trees/bushes but I could never find any cuttings.  At $60/kilo growing your own would seem to be a good thing to try.

It is alot cheaper than in any local stores. However, just looked and did not see it by the kilo. Supply chain nonsense?

Maybe. But I do not think Thailand has the climate or the soil to support super high quality tea. And a kilo is alot.

Not my experience, paying ahead does not seem to slow it down. At least not in the way your talking about.

Shopee is faster and has easy payment option linked to my Kasikorn bank. Money will only be released to the seller after you confirm receipt. So they have nothing to gain by shipping slow.

I hate COD but that is partly because i order a lot and else i need to get money ready or be at home to receive. Now the guard can receive it if needed.

Look online for Tenren. Their Jasmine and white tea bags are the highest quality I ever seen for the money. They are reasonable. I think shipped out of SF.
