The Motherboard on my Windows 7 gave up, however the SSD that it was on is still working properly.

I have seen it on an alternative Windows 7 computer.

I specifically wish to recover the the Bookmarks that is on the Mozilla Firefox browser, and also all of my emails on Mozilla Thunderbird.

I would be most grateful, if someone can please tell me how this can be done?

I am not sure if this is pertinent, I don't know much about computers, but when I destroyed my previous lap top by throwing it ageist he wall (I don't recommend it, but boy did it felt good LOL)  they removed my hard drive out of the  mangled lop to and attempted to hook it up via some cord to the new laptop and recover my files,

Unfortunately it was a very hard wall and the pins on the hard drive were also damaged, and they suggested that the only other way to recover the files was to send the laptop to a lab. Fortunately I remember that I had a cloud account and was able to recover my pictures and document s from there.

Not sure if that helps you any , but I thought I would mention it.

Google suggests:

https://www.kuhnline.com/windows-7-restore-to-different-hardware/

or

https://www.ubackup.com/universal-restore/move-windows-7-installation-to-new-computer-0528.html

Those links cover saving your complete Windows 7 installation.

Please provide a few more details about where you will be using your recovered bookmarks and emails.  Do you have another computer that already has Windows 7 or 10 on it?  Are you buying/bought a new computer?

If you only wish to move your bookmarks and e-mails it is probably easier to find how to import that data into your new computer when your old SSD is accessible as an external drive.

The recovered bookmarks and emails I am hoping to transfer, will be to the exact same programs Mozilla Firefox and Mozilla Thunderbird.

My new computer, with a new SSD disk, has Windows 11 already installed in it.

Through it I can see my of old C drive of Windows 7 on it.

I suggest you search for an option in both Firefox and Thunderbird to import your old data directly into the same applications on your new computer.

Firefox:

If you have an SSD drive, then your browser, bookmarks, Win 7 and everything else that is software is still on it. You just need to disconnect it from the machine. There is a little connector that you will unplug from the motherboard.

Your bookmarks, Thunderbird, etc. should all be safe and on that drive. With your SSD in hand, you can do a number of things... you can take it somewhere for a tech to connect to some to other machine and fetch your stuff, you could buy a new PC and install it as the main drive... or, you could even buy a new motherboard and CPU and install it in the same old machine without ever removing the SSD (this may not be a very good option... if your motherboard kicked the bucket, you should probably get a new machine because [hardware] things are clearly getting outdated).

Just go to the three lines in the top right hand corner of firefox select bookmarks/manage bookmarks/import-export bookmarks/export bookmarks.  Save as an html file on a usb disk.

You can then go to any machine/operating system that has Firefox installed and do all the above except click import rather than export having removed any bookmarks already on the new system first.  Your E-mails are in the cloud and will be available on any computer that you log into with your e-mail sign in.

Good news, I have been able to rescue my Mozilla Firefox bookmarks and Thunderbird emails.
However this has been done in a different fashion.

Initially I could see all my emails in their correct corresponding folders, but then for some reason they have all now been grouped in the following folders:
Inbox (23795)
Sent Mail (1031)
All Mail (23796)
Important (9027)
And it was the same for my bookmarks.

I don't know what went on here.
Is there a way to transfer them back in their original settings please?
