Can he make fuel free,if so we will travel the roads and drive to Phuket then to Chiang Rai and Kalasin then down to Surat Thani.  He can also give us some spending cash to help out the peoples places we will stay at and eat at....

Despite prices for fuel spiralling out of control at the pumps due to the "military operation" in Ukraine the PM has kindly allowed Thais to continue using their cars.

So he just signaled that in the near future he may ban the commoners from driving because <insert ludicrous reason here>.  Rising prices in a free market take care of themselves as rapidly increasing prices creates demand destruction.  When prices get up to 50+ TBH/liter the average Thais will be reining their driving in drastically.  In the meanwhile, it's nice having a car that get over 50 miles/gallon.  The price can double.  Big deal.

The problem is the diesel subsidy. That should just have been for truckers and delivery people. But everyone with a diesel car is profiting from it its a bit unfair to those who have a car that does not run on diesel.

But it might be a bit hard to make ironclad rules that only certain people get the discount. I could see truckers filling their tank and then reselling. So it might not be practically possible to make it so only businesses get the diesel discount.

He is doing everything in his power to open the country up again, and increase tourism revenue.

He is increasing exports.

He is abiding by all of the terms of the ASEAN charters he signed, and allowing the duty free importation of all beer throughout ASEAN. Bintang, Beer Lao, Bia Saigon, Bia Huda, Bia Ha Noi, Dagon, Saigon Special, 333, are on all of the supermarket shelves as we speak. We are no longer subject to the very low quality local beers, as promised in the recent ASEAN charter, that Thailand agreed to and signed.

He is making visa policy easy, simple and streamlined, and all tourists are very happy about that.

He is working on the attitudes of government workers, and making sure they are open and friendly to both tourists, and ex-pats.

He is improving traffic and public safety. He is working day and night to eliminate the air quality issues, that have become a catastrophe for the nation.

Corruption is being eliminated, and innocent fall guys are no longer getting charged for murder, and being put to death. The taxi mafia on Samui and Phuket have been eliminated, and tourists can now get a taxi at a fair price. They are also adding multiple options of cheap public transportation on the Southern islands.

Life is better for all now that this great man is demonstrating his genius and vision on a daily basis. All he cares about is the welfare of his own people, and the happiness of both tourists and the ex-pat community. He contemplates this day and night.

Which free to air channel  do you watch ?

Most people don't use diesel. We are paying 40 baht for gas

I use diesel @ Bht 30 a litre in my Vigo 3 litre and get 12 kpl = Bht 2.5 / km. My stepdaughter has a Honda City using 91 petrol (gas) and gets 20 km/litre = Bht 2 per km.

So which is more economical please?

Not sure comparing a 3 litre cast iron diesel to 4 wheeled sewing machine purely on $/km is best, or I might mention  a scooter.... the type you propel with your foot.

How long can he still keep the prices "low"?

10days ago, I filled my car in Kanchanaburi at 35,XX a litre diesel.
Last Friday, it was 39,74 at Shell in BKK

Oil went up from 111$ a barrel to 131$ a barrel now.

Yesterday, diesel was at 38,54 at Shell

Oil up 20% since last Friday but at the petrol station, 3% down.

Soon reality will kick in.
No tourists

Very high oil prices

Very surprised the Baht is holding up.
Who sees the Baht as a safe heaven? Probably a few think, otherwise it would be tanking as the prospect of tourists rushing to Thailand has been dealt another blow.
