My partner and I have been together for just over 16 months.

She's a bloody good woman. We have two girls from her previous a**whole, who is now in 'another' life.

It's time soon to tie the knot and I need some expert advice/guidance.

• What's needed to get hitched?
  
• Do we NEED to do the Thai ceremony? We are both happy to keep it simple and have a nice dinner with friends.
  
• The dowry is off the table, at her insistance?
  
• What happens with the 2 girls?
  
• Do I need to adopt them?
  
• Can we sign pre-nupts here that would be valid back in the land of Oz? Already agreed between both of us.
  
• Will getting hitched pose probs for a Visa? IE. Should we go home on a Fiance Visa and get hitched in Oz first, or will getting married be enough?
