Hello Phuketians,

I'm planning a trip to Phuket with my girlfriend's family later in the year. Her stepfather is a keen windsurfer, so I would like to test your combined knowledge to find out which is the best beach for windsurfing in respect of wind strength/direction and facilities.

Any advice will be gratefully recieved.

Cheers krap.

What month will that be, because depending on the month, the wind will either be blowing from the west or blowing from the east.  Generally May -October you have Nai Yang, at the north all the way down to Kata in the south, while from November through April you'll have the most luck in Ao Chalong when the wind blows from the east.

OK, thanks steelepulse, I think we are looking to go around December time. So Ao Chalong should be the best then, right?

Cheers.
