Prachuap Khiri Khan suffers first road death of Songkran holidays

Prachuap Khiri Khan suffered its first road death of the Songkran holidays, following a motorcycle accident on Monday (April 11).

 

Prompiriya Kitnuson, Deputy Governor of Prachuap Khiri Khan Province, who chaired the meeting of the Working Group of the Center for Preventing and Reducing Road Accidents during Songkran Festival 2022, said there were a total of five accidents in the province on Monday resulting in five injuries and one death.

The death was confirmed as a 60-year-old man from Sai Thong Sub-district, Bang Saphan Noi, who died when his motorcycle collided with a pickup truck.

 

Officials said the man was not wearing a helmet and driving on the wrong side of the road.

Definitely where the majority of deaths occur.

 

Its not on the major highways.  

 

Many motorcycles up here in Issan haven't properly working taillights or headlights.

 

At least in a car your much more protected.

 

Unfortunately the insane taxes to buy a car in Thailand put it of reach for most Thais.

They should publish the number of deaths as a result of road accidents not just the number at the scene of the accident. I think most people if they did publish such data would be horrified.
