Pattaya – The first day of the nationwide three-day Songkran (Thai New Year) festival yesterday saw heavy traffic, busy beaches, but mostly dry streets due to a ban on water splashing this year in public.

Reason for asking is because a friend and his wife want to visit us in BKK on 17th and he asked if I thought it would be bad traffic 'to BKK'.
