Thai Covid-19 Center Committee to discuss school reopenings and international arrival measures easing in next meeting

The Center for Covid-19 Situation Administration (CCSA) is planning to consider school reopenings and international arrival measures easing after the number of daily infections after the Songkran long holiday so far remains stable.

 

Government spokesperson Thanakorn Wangboonkongchana told the Associated Press today, April 20th, that Prime Minister Prayut Chan-O’Cha would chair the next CCSA meeting this Friday, April 22nd, to monitor the assessment of the Covid-19 pandemic situation in the country during the past Songkran festival, which took place last week and celebrated the Thai New Year, when millions of Thais returned home to spend time with their families and friends.

Initially, the reports revealed that there was a significant improvement in cash flow in the tourism sector. The statistics of daily infections from international arrivals were also few and the domestic number was under control.

Do it Thailand.....2 years is a good enough punishment to poor folks....give them some relief...open Thailand!!

A two year knock-back for the potential social development of the poor.... 

 

The wealthy are fine, their kids are all in international schools which have had excellent online learning and have been open from the beginning of the year. 

 

 

It is an utter travesty that government schools are not yet open..

 

 

The Thai population present a far greater Covid-19 transmission threat to international arrivals than international arrivals do to the Thai population - and what is this thread ?......  something which has extremely little impact on the vast vast majority of people who find themselves positive.

 

(yes, there are serious cases, but those serious cases may find themselves in difficult in an influenza outbreak and we don’t lock down for that).

The arrival measures will remain in some crazy form, the emergency decree will remain [for safety purposes] and testing in Thailand will remain to snare the unfortunates.

Dear God, let the schools fully re-open again. My daughters stopped kindergarten last March due to General stupidity and has been off for nearly 14 months when due back next month

Thailand Pass still in place. Because they want to keep insurance and vaccine "proof." So the hoops are still there.

I think keeping pass is sensible for now. Removing compulsory hotel booking has to be a good thing though

The insurance requirement will still keep people out. (BTW not talking about myself.) And the fact that you are still dependent on their dodgy technology apps likely means that if anything goes wrong you can expect the "solution" to be something not in your favor.
