Bandersnatch
My current car does 0-100k/h in 6.9 seconds and that is plenty fast enough to get away from coal rolling pickup trucks so for sure 5.9 seconds 0-100 would be fine for me.

With the pick up truck market in Thailand being what it is, I am sure one is not far behind. Thank you for that info.

Popular Post mistral53
Just test drove the BYD Seal performance (3.8S) - done deal if they pay enough for my MB trade in ???? My biggest gripe is the black interior (no other color option). They also replaced the piano-black middle console cover with a drab plastic cover - why on earth this was decided on is beyond me, looks so much cheaper. Compared to the Tesla Model 3 LR, the ride is close, acceleration is on par, everything inside is more high quality, it has a real instrument cluster in the dash, the heads up display is very nice, build quality is excellent...... and it looks a lot better. The 'space grey' color is drop dead gorgeous. Edited September 28, 2023 by mistral53 2 2

Popular Post Bandersnatch
I am at Buriram BYD just test drove the premium @ 5.9 secs 0-100 plenty fast enough. Love the cooled and ventilated seats. Didn’t notice the glass roof being too hot. “Hi BYD - increase fan speed” worked first time. The sales girl was very impressed. MG is in Thai! I didn’t like the blue interior I saw at the BKK show, the black with white stitching looks classy. HUD is great. Drives great very impressed want to buy one. Like the way the driver seat move back when you open the door. White colour really sparkles and unlike Tesla it doesn’t cost an extra 50,000 Baht Prices released at 6pm today Tesla Model 3 owner turned up to do a trade in 1 1

Popular Post macahoom
Just got back from the Seal test drive. I was very disappointed that, not only did they not have the Performance AWD top model to test, but they don’t have the car I ordered several weeks ago in stock. Only 2 AWDs have been ordered in Phuket. I ordered a blue one, and the other person a white. The white is in stock. They don’t know when I’ll be getting mine. "Some time in October." Anyway, had a short test drive in quite heavy traffic in the Premium model. Bandersnatch says it all, above. A few negatives for me: 1) The car was hot; probably the glass roof. I don’t know why they are installed in Thailand cars. This meant the aircon was a little noisy fighting against the heat, but maybe that says more about how quiet the car is. Hopefully I can get my hands on the dedicated, clip-on shade which I saw in a Chinese review of the car. And hopefully the ventilated seats will help. 2) There was a little lag in the pick up when I floored it. Nothing bothersome, just not what I’m used to in my other two EVs. Nitpicking. 3) Brakes seemed extremely grabby but I’m sure I’ll get used to that. Nitpicking. Based on today, the car is much better than I expected. And I guess the AWD one will be even better. A joy to drive, the finish is beautiful and it seems to be very comfortable. Nearly forgot: the test model was a sort of grey/blue with a hint of purple. Unusual, and I thought quite nice. 4

Popular Post Melpomene
Just got back from test driving the Seal and was very, very impressed. I cannot quite get over the quality of the finish, much better than I'd expected. It's the first time I'd visited a BYD dealer to look at their cars, and I must admit I'd perhaps fallen into the "cheap Chinese rubbish" trap - I couldn't have been more wrong. Our local dealer only had the Premium models in stock and he "unofficially" told me the price for this is going to be 1,450,000. This is more than fast enough for me, and the extra range of this can only be a good thing. My only slight dislike was the infotainment display, it felt a bit slow and unresponsive and even crashed my phone when I connected the bluetooth. Any existing BYD drivers have any issues with this in the ATTO 3 or Dolphin ? I'd had my heart set on buying a "premium" brand this time round as had grown bored of Toyotas, so had been looking at the Volvo XC40 or waiting for the iX1. After seeing these cars today I'm not sure I could now bring myself to pay the extra money, so we're now seriously considering a Seal for me & a Dolphin for the wife and saving 500k ! 3 2 1

It wasn’t obvious and the girl knew less about the car than I did. Yes, I did. I think the control was on the steering wheel. Possibly! But it was close to the end of the drive, there was lots of traffic and I didn't get much chance to try it out properly. That said, it's possible that what I thought was regen, was actually the self braking which triggers when you approach a slower, or stopped, vehicle in front. I was pressing all sorts of buttons, so who knows? Whatever was happening, worked very smoothly. But I certainly didn't get to compare different levels of regen. 1

Popular Post macahoom
Some good news, for me anyway: Someone has posted on Facebook and he was in the showroom today and he says all Seals come with a clip-on screen for the sunroof. There were pics of him holding it and also with it in position. It's the same as the one I saw in a Chinese video review of the car. When my girlfriend asked our salesman about it this morning, he knew nothing about it. Edited September 28, 2023 by macahoom 1
