would be wonderful if one day the majority of Thai voters engage their brain and vote for honest competent politicians. Unfortunately this seems to be a dream which won't come true anytime soon

And guess what would happen anyway? I.e. what has happened to Future Forward and what will likely happen to Move Forward...

And it will be rigged again next time.

  • It is very possible, likely even, that Pheu Thai and Move forward will command a majority in the lower house come the next election, unless there are moves to disband the parties prior to the election

Well , wont make a dent as they have reserved 250 for army and elites.

The dreamy notion of gaining overwhelming majority and creating a new government is a bit fanciful.

Hypothetically......what if the possibilities of a solid control came about by way of Pheu Thai or the Progressive [Future Forward] Parties? What then......? What type of changes might be implemented for the overall well being of the commons? Are there any real such differences between the make up and the masks of any and all political parties?

Remembering that a democratic parliamentary system representing the people is less than a surface farce here. Everything and anything is still dictated to very very high circles and it's traditional approval.

The crux.

Generals don't stage coups in isolation in Thailand's history even if they power crazed. No form of government can be formed without royal endorsement in Thailand.

But the PM would still be unelected by the Thai people, that's the electorate, right?
