Thailand’s oldest political party, the Democrats, has seen yet another resignation of a senior member over the sexual abuse scandal, in which Prinn Panitchpakdi, a former deputy leader, is allegedly implicated.

Veteran politician and former leader of the student movement during the student uprising in 1973, Kanok Wongtrangan said in his Facebook post today (Monday) that he decided to quit the role of deputy leader out of moral conscience, effective today.

Kanok said that the sex abuse scandal has led to many questions being raised by the public regarding the standard of moral accountability of the party’s executive committee, but the response from the party leader, Jurin Laksanawisit, does not meet public expectations.

What is the possibility that the ruling party exposed these issues, and was responsible for the sabotage, and the outing of these guys? They are desperate, and will seemingly do anything to cling to the power they thirst for.

That's Politics ,they Will find Anything on one and another .That's normal in any country.

Good thing that they find the Sex crims doh.

Is it just me or are some higher-ups stirring the s"*ç%t? Anutin declared some time ago that he's ready to serve as PM, sugar loaf Thammanat also reconfirmed his political sacrifice for the Land while Somkit is being named as well.

On the other hand there is some massive bashing on the Democrats going on. While Prinn certainly has a lot of explanation to render - provided this is at all possible and Jurin could be accused for not having done his homework properly when getting Prinn onto the boat ........

Politics is dirty business and not only since yesterday and certainly in Thailand. So, separate the dirt of politics from individual screenings of backgrounds. If Prinn is indeed a rapist, then lock him up for good and throw away the key; his raping has noting to do with (Democrats) politics nor his pristine  exemplary father, who had served Thailand domestically as well as internationally sharing the WTO chair in Geneva back in the day!

Can you imagine what the US political parties would be like if the same "moral conscience" was implored?

Maybe Prinn learned this from his father?  Or his father should have done something after the Uk case.

Oh, the Democrat Party is in moral decline? You don't say.

You mean aligning your interests solely with the Amart and the Southern Mafia and ignoring your roots to support military dictators over and over again leads to a corruption of your very purpose and inevitable decline into irrelevance and crime? Who'd a thunk it? Their corruption and fall mirrors the justice-less empty consumerism of their Bangkokian former supporters who mewl for their masters while rolling over for treats from fifth-rate half-ass non-soldiers whose sole combat experience is in taking on their own citizens to prevent them from exercising their rights.
