Some things are not that different in price to Bangkok. In central London a pint of Guinness in a pub is about 240 baht, burger and chips about 550. I think the days of mass tourism in Thailand are gone. Fashion and tastes change. People move on. Thailand is not the cheap destination it was 15-20 years ago. In real terms it has probably doubled in price for Brits. RAZZ Average cost of pint of Guinness in a central London pub is £4.45.

Not everyone is poor pinching pennies living in their mommies basement and cannot travel to still, one of the least expensive countries to visit. I would not dismiss the convulsions of history that lightly. The traditional monger base have "discovered" Colombia and German or Spanish FKK clubs and find these far better bang 4 buck, plus they suffered minimal shutdown over the last year's by comparison. Turning to the woke temple-hugger crowd, they're starting to seriously criticize the regional pollution, and the regional authoritarian corruption, as are bright young Thais themselves. Part of why Thailand is so cheap is that it's undeniable that it's basic industry is run on the backs of little more than modern slave labour. The Asian Spring is coming, and it won't peter out like the Arab version. Just look at how tenacious the Vietcong were at wiping the corrupt Saigon regime off the map. Then, there's robotics. Thai tycoons will finally be seduced into following the Japanese, and the famous African/American, Elon Musk in order to afford that UK football team and not lose face. What happens to the people down on the farm then? And anybody here who hasn't noticed how prices are climbing for tourists while the same old xenophobic and "traditional" TAT daydreams persist, and think this won't drive tourists away are dreaming themselves. Forget China, they're locked up until Xi is in his glass coffin. A global crunch is coming, and although the dinosaurs in Bangkok don't know it, their world will be swept away just as European crowns were swept away about 100 years ago. It's about to get real. 3

Basically the very corrupt communists had an unlimited supply of brainwashed uneducated peasants to march off to their deaths in such numbers that the Americans got fed up and left. They were happy to waste millions of young lives in order to get their hands on the economy of the South. That wasn't tenacious and invading and occupying the South was worse for the people of the South. Nothing to boast about in the Communist invasion and occupation of South Vietnam. Certainly not something to desire to happen in any other country.

Of course they are, but the unelected PM and his soldiers are not. The protesters spring to mind.
