There have been threads about this in the past - I think both general and Chiang Mai specific.

I reread them and made notes, but it's extremely difficult and confusing to compare prices.

Many of the testing labs have websites with text in Thai and I couldn't find any way to change the language to English.

One lab has extensive writeups in English about the testing, but a search of the site revealed no prices.

Etc.

As I recall, there is (at least in general) no "STD packages" - everything is a la carte and some seem insanely expensive

1 lab which was recommended in 1 thread has an HIV test priced at 2500 THB, a price that would keep many from getting the test.

In the US one finds County Health Services and NGO's offering such tests for free or very little.

Has anyone done a price comparison of at least a few labs and come up with one with a fairly complete list of tests available at a better price than the others?

Hopefully with some English speaking staff.

Although 1 poster said that some cheaper labs do not have their equipment calibrated frequenty enough and to make sure they are "certified".

Any suggestions on where to go?

When you use Chrome browser, most you can translate in to your own language.

Which lab?

I think the standard price for an hiv test at private clinics/labs is 500 baht.

I assure  you: if you think you have a dose, are in pain and a mixture of blood  and mustard are coming out of your stick  of Brighton rock...then price don't  come into it. Get your self to the  best hospital  you can ASAP.

Free HIV, syphilis & Hepatitis  testing here https://www.napneung.net/home

It is connected to CM University and reliable.

Great suggestion - excellent program they have based on reading their website.

Do you have any suggestion(s) for a place to be tested for other STDs?

Gonorrhea and Chlamydia are the other main two, but there are others but testing isn't easy.

Have you got symptoms? or is it just a check?

I believe there is a "Travel Medicine Clinic"  in Nakhornping Hospital outpatient building that can do this. Used to be, anyhow.   http://www.nkp-hospital.go.th/en/map.php
Will be cheaper than the above but might not encounter much English speaking

Note that chlamydia tests, wherever done,  are comparatively expensive.

Thanks again for your suggestions.

Used them both.

I tested at napneung for the free testing for 4 diseases.

The branch in the CM Ram area a bit hard to find -

the car driver had to make a few circles of the area  before finding it.

1 staff member took care of the testing with results in 10 minutes.

I was satisfied.

Likewise CM Mediclinic.

Small lab - Polite staff -  1 very helpful receptionist with good English and 2 nurses.

Emailed the results.

Some tests are expensive, but

prices seemed to be in line with most of the other labs in the city.

I couldn't find cheaper quotes elsewhere.

I was very satisfied (other than the cost - but was aware of that going in).
