National – Public Health Minister Anutin Charnvirakul said the number of daily infections could significantly increase to ten thousand within 3-5 days after entertainment venues had legally reopened in much of Thailand on June 1st.

The Minister told the Associated Press yesterday, June 2nd, that the Secretary-General initially reported the situation after the venue reopening and admitted that he was worried because each venue had a high risk as they were loud and people needed to speak louder. Some may remove their masks and get close to one another to speak which could cause an increase in infections. The Minister also claimed many people were breaking Covid-19 rules such as dancing and sharing glasses and bottles.

More than 300 entertainment venues in Bangkok had requested permission to open and every place had full protection measures under the Public Health guidelines, claimed the Entertainment and nightlife industry.

TPN notes the venues have, in reality, been open as “restaurants” for months with mixed rule-following and enforcement, even as Covid-19 cases have fallen nationwide.

They said they would be 50-100k after Songkran lol. They miraculously halved. And just like that, covid was gone. Who cares, covid appears to have been a worldwide ef up. Lets move on

Sames as he expected 50.000 cases after Songkran..... Hollow barrow........

It’s flu…wake up! Looking at that mug and I understand why he wants to keep mask mandates. I’m all for it if he keeps wearing one. People use to call Thaksin SpongeBob but I think we have a contender in country.

Only one solution, we need another total lockdown......And this time we need everyone's door welded shut so no one can leave their house....All flights should also be canceled and lets get those covid field hospitals going again..

These "customers" have been mixing with families, socialising with friends, working with colleagues, shopping, eating and drinking as well as travelling around.

But now the bars are open it's going so spread more.

Just another excuse to keep the restrictions as they are going and the emergency decree to keep control.

I guess he has not been to an entertainment venue operating as a fake restaurant before June 1st as no customers were wearing masks. Now they “ease restrictions” but expect people to wear masks? I don’t see much difference as the legal closing times are still midnight and seems they will try to enforce mask wearing. That ain’t goona happen. On top of that, all these venues, especially in Pattaya are paying tea money now  to stay open until 2-3 am now. What’s the point to all this nonsense anyways.

Well it is the Hub of Mumbo Jumbo.

Isn't it his job to plan for this happening?  So, what is  his plan if it goes sideways?

  • Popular Post

I don’t know about increasing that much. But opening the venues can increase the number of cases.
Its up to the individual if they want to take the risk.

Ditto that x 6 people in this household with ages ranging from 8 to 62, no more than a mild flu, although have to admit only the two adults, i.e. me and the wife were on a heavy drug to get better, it was Sara (paracetamol) ????

not for any fever as there wasn't any, just the occasional headaches.

The above said have had much much much worse in my life, like flat on my back in bed for 4 days twice with a real flu and I was half my age.
