Broadband Options On Kpg

Featured Replies

I'm on the Chaloklam road heading north just before the Haad Yao link road, does anybody have any idea of what kind of broadband is available in the area? I really can't suffer ipstar again, drove me crazy in the old place I lived and GPRS is very slow most of the time.

Thanks in advance.

You might be able to get DSL, ask the TT&T office in Samui, as TT&T would be your phone provider there.

Do they have a local contact sbk? Or is it the whole make an enquiry and await their response thing?

VERY FUNNY

Why funny? Broadband is available on the island, just not in very many places, which is exactly why I asked.

I'd go over to the office in Samui frankly. The local contact is merely a repairman. There is an office in the Tesco lotus I believe.

Just talked to my husband and he said it could iffy, you are about 5k from Thong Sala? Maybe they'll give it to you but not sure. Worth it to ask as that is your only fairly high speed option. There's been discussion about the CAT wireless phone/internet but no reports as to real speed.

Yeah about 7-8km from town, I wasn't sure how far out it comes. I wasn't aware that CAT had the aircard working anywhere near here yet? I've seen good reports of it in other places in Thailand, maybe I'll check that out.

We had a local guy come round last year selling it. You could try contacting CAT directly to see if its still available and what kind of speeds they offer.
