INN reporters went to a school in Nakhon Ratchasima's Khon Buri district after fire broke out late on Saturday night.

 

A storage room in an old block used to house donations to the school such as clothes was badly damaged with windows out and a roof partially collapsed. 

 

Mosek, 15, a M3 secondary pupil who is a boarder at the school said he was the first to hear the sound of what he thought was windows smashing then explosions. 

 

He went to investigate at 11 pm and discovered the fire about 30 meters from the male dorm.

He alerted a teaching assistant and other adults who called the fire brigade. 

 

Kornthip, a teaching assistant, said she got everyone up and they evacuated the school fearing the fire would spread to the dorms. 

 

A short circuit was blamed after electrical work in the storeroom that had plenty of items that were a good source of fuel for the fire. 

 

Khon Buri police are investigating.
