i saw an interview with an ex-soldier who got a chinese character tattoo with along with his mate that they thought said 'brother'. it was a while later that they found out the character meant 'fairy'. i guess it pays to understand the culture you're appropriating.

Next time they meet, the tattoo guy is gonna get wrecked ????????
