I do apologise for my mistake , I should have said "the two reasons" , rather than the "sole reason"

But there were other criteria too, like qualifications and experience.

A selection screening that resulted in such an excellent candidate.

I didn't say she was asked to make a judgement though...........

No, but that was the excuse she gave for not answering the question , that she is a Judge and judges need to hear what the prosecution and defendants have to say and she makes judgement

And what exactly is your problem with that?

Its not a basic yes and no answer, it needs a lot of context unless you going to be there with different scenarios for a few hours, he was baiting her and she knew it, so did everybody else. You do know there are many complexities its not black and white:

There being at least six different biological markers of “sex” in the body: genitals, chromosomes, gonads, internal reproductive structures, hormone ratios and secondary sex characteristics. None of the six is strictly dichotomous and the different markers don’t always align.

 "In any particular case of sex categorization, whether in law or in science, it is necessary to build a definition of sex particular to context."

Well yes, she did answer the question with some deflective words , but she didn't answer the question posed to her

She did give an answer. She's entitled to answer as she see fit. She didn't lie, unlike the last 2 Trump nominees.

She answered perfectly without embroiling herself in rightwing culture wars.

She’s clearly s very savvy lady.

See the bigger picture. Think how women and blacks were treated in 1962 and what has been achieved in 60 years .

<snip for brevity>

That's what upsets these people.

A long series of off-topic posts about voter ID and voting requirements have been removed. The topic here is about the new U.S. Supreme Court justice.
