I take it that this pilot didn't get his training at Top Gun. In all seriousness though, that sounds like a ridiculous excuse.

Instead I decided the School would be the best place to unload.......I was misunderstood, said the Pilot in his interview with the Good PM...... He may respond and I hope he does, because reality for the Karen people is daily attacks from the Myanmar military as they ramp up their attacks on what they call insurgents. The Myanmar Government has burned down many villages as well as indiscriminately killing civilians. They have tried there best to shut down the internet in the country so as to not let much of the information get out from the country. As an Ethnic Karen my GF has relatives throughout Myanmar who have tried to escape the brutality. Myanmar is truly a country with a civil war on it's hands. I wonder how the expats in Mandalay, Yangon and other locales are doing. I lost contact with a friend many months ago who lived just over the border from Mae Sot.
Popular Post natway09
With all due respect Mr PM, I live here & the cruel carnage going on, literally on your doorstep is is a big deal. I posted details here but was taken off due my being very real about the situation. I can post recent photos that are just horrible what is going on but they will not pass the censor. The toothles tiger ASEAN just watches the unnecessary killing & maiming by a Junta that should be overthrown as they are scum in any society.
billd766
Well unless Thailand has 2 aircraft, pilots and ground crew on 24/7 QRA (Quick Reaction Alert) and a second set on 5 minutes readiness they are wasting their time. The Myanmar Mig-29 would have been over Thailand, done its dirty deed and been halfway home before the RTAF had even got airborne. You cannot play at defending your country. Every scramble must be the real thing, because one day it will be. Too late to play catchup then.

How about to bomb and strafe Karen refugees from Burma. The Burmese know that they are safe from retaliation from the Thai military, #1 because the F16s had to come from Tak Fa airbase well over 100km away, #2 because the RTAF has no QRA (Quick Reaction Alert) aircraft available at less than 1 minutes notice, #3 because the Thai military PM and the Burmese military PM are best friends. The only way to make the border more secure is to have several pairs of QRA aircraft airborne 24/7 equipped with air to air refuelling and several tankers available 24/7. The RTAF does not have the aircraft or crews to operate like this for any extended period. .

Yes indeed and for reference: Some 3,000 people from Myanmar’s southeastern Karen state fled to neighbouring Thailand after the military bombed an area held by an ethnic armed group, (You Tube March 2021)
