There are about two and a half rai in an acre. The proper answer is that land is worth however much anyone is willing to pay for it. We live out in the boonies of Loei and have three different plots of land one is ten rai and we paid 180,000 baht for it two years ago. Another is nine and a half rai and we paid 190,000 baht for that one just recently. Both plots have no water or electricity and both are on dirt roads. The third plot has water, electricity and is in our village. We paid 80,000 baht for about one half a rai. Near the village on the main road a guy is asking 500,000 baht per rai. It is a fruit orchard.
