Thai Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha and Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi held discussions today (Tuesday) at Government House on trade, economic cooperation, investment and greater connectivity between the two countries, under the all-round strategic partnership framework.

Wang Yi is currently on a five-nation diplomatic tour of Southeast Asia. He was in Myanmar yesterday in the first stop on his tour, which is to include Thailand, the Lao PDR, Cambodia and Vietnam.

After the meeting, Thai Government Spokesman Thanakorn Wangboonkongchana told the media that, during the discussion, the Thai prime minister proposed that China accelerate the construction of facilities which will help the export of Thai fruit and other products into China.

I wonder why Malaysia, Philippines and Singapore were left out of his tour?

From what I read in OP they are discussing "connectivity", probably land connectivity. Malaysia and Singapore are too far, Phillipines doesn't have land borders.

Interesting as the UK must now kow tow to India and China following Brexit. Wanting to trade is normal and if you are not in a large trade union of states, sucking up to others will become the norm.

What that means is, "I'll trade you whatever you want so long as your money can connect with my bank account, of course there will be an envelope or two for you"
