Thai parliament opts for different numbers for constituency and party ballots

Wednesday’s joint session of parliament rejected, by 341:150 votes with five abstentions, the proposal of the minority faction of House scrutiny committee for constituency and party ballots to be assigned the same numbers.

 

The minority faction had claimed that assigning the same numbers would be less confusing for the voters.

 

Under the two-ballot electoral system, to be applied in the next general election, scheduled for 2023, voters will cast one ballot for constituency MPs and the other for the party of their choice.

I really feel its about time that voting went digital and you have the ability to double check on your own vote for fraud.

I really don't see the problem with confusion.

 

After all, last time they enjoyed a leisurely few weeks to count, assess, interpret and reallocate as appropriate the ballots.

Different numbers meaning vote for different political constituency and party groups? Sounds sensible, but it would be good if they didn't keep changing the election process so often.
