Thai government announces 19th extension of Emergency Decree, effective until September

National – The Center for Covid-19 Situation Administration (CCSA) announced another 2-month extension of the Emergency Decree, effective from August 1st to September 30th.

Entering post-pandemic era, Thailand sees 29,000 daily COVID infections since June 25

As Thailand struggles to enter a post-pandemic period, an average of 29,000 people in Thailand have caught COVID-19 every day since June 25th, bringing the accumulated total of COVID out-patients to 207,643, according to Spokesman for the Centre for COVID-19 Situation Administration (CCSA) Dr. Taweesin Visanuyothin.

Community isolation to be reactivated as new COVID infections surge in Bangkok

The Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA) is considering reactivating community isolation facilities in 50 districts for COVID-19 patients in slum areas, to separate the infected from those over 60 years old, people suffering from underlying diseases and pregnant women, as new infections hit 2,000 a day in the capital alone.

THE Covid-19 Situation Administration (CCSA) spokesman Dr. Thaweesilp Wisanuyothin said after today’s (July 8th) executive committee meeting that the number of cases are rising with there being a small wave in 23 provinces and Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha urged the public to only listen to this agency’s news on the situation, Matichon newspaper said.
