How true, total waste of time wiv socialists....????

What policies has RayC espoused that would qualify him as a socialist? I'm posting the definition of socialism below to make answering this easy for you.

What Is Socialism?

Socialism is a populist economic and political system based on collective, common, or public ownership of the means of production. Those means of production include the machinery, tools, and factories used to produce goods that aim to directly satisfy human needs. In contrast to capitalism, whereby business owners control the means of production and pay wages to workers to use those means, socialism envisions shared ownership and control among the laboring class.

What did you expect? The UK is no longer a member of the EU so why should it expect to be granted the same benefits as its' members?

Of course, the EU is protectionist by definition. It exists to protect the interests of its' members.

What do you mean by "extreme protectionism" (as opposed to 'normal' protectionism)?

What extremist, hardline, remainers fail to understand is the democratic vote for brexit was a major benefit it in itself. That the people could rebel against the  massed forces of media, the technocrats  and the political  orthodoxy was a benefit in itself.

Given that you are replying to my post, I assume that you consider me to be an "extremist, hardline remainer"? What differentiates me from a run of the mill remainer?

" ... a major benefit in itself..." is just an admission that there is no empirical evidence to support your position.

Are you incapable of seeing what's staring you in the face?

If Brexit was done as you claim - something which is contrary to what some of your fellow Brexiters suggest - then the UK government would not be trying to rewrite the Withdrawal Agreement!

There are many differences between 'Remainers' and 'Leavers', but a fundamental one is that 'Remainers' try to quantify the economic effects of withdrawing from the EU, whilst Leavers do nothing other than talk of some undefined future, nebulous, unquantified benefits.

You should tell that to Rees-Mogg who predicted it would take 50 years. Your news might cheer him up considerably.

In the meanwhile, his hedge fund blooms. What is the definition of those who seek to collapse the economy and currency to enrich themselves and their sidekicks? Oh yes, 'Treason' is the word.

So, on the one hand "it's not his money" was your original defense and now you've switched to don't they all. Contradicting yourself much?

It's significant that you have to go that far back to make the current government look good. Was it in this thread that some claimed that Labour would be even worse? You right-wingers set a very low bar to defend this government.

Wrong once again, I have no political agenda, I just look at what's around and go from there. I am not one of those socialist nuts who dismiss ALL from other Party's.

"Make the government look good", if you don't like facts, that is your problem.

Just look at your Labour benches, I watched Corby the other night having a go at Boris's farewell, the bloke had a dirty jacket, un-ironed shirt and the cat tied his tie, then he spoke typical socialist rubbish.....????

Congratulations. Just when I think that you may have reached a floor when it comes to ridiculous comments, you keep surprising me by offering something even more absurd.

Taking your comment at face "value", if someone of the WW2 generation complains, perhaps they should be told to pull their socks up; those around at the time of the 'Black Death' had it harder?

The relative plight of different generations is tangential. The actions of the government of the day are meant to improve the welfare of its' citizens. They should be judged on their time in office. There is no evidence (to date) to suggest that things will have improved during this government's tenure.

Nothing changes from your socialist camp, first thing to do is write a para to put a poster down, then the next para is trying to work around what has been written. In your case, guff.

Perhaps someone like you doesn't understand if there have been any improvements to the country, you just look at if your life has improved.

As you seem to know there have been no improvements in the  UK, then you provide a competent link stating the facts, and not socialist guff.

You can leave out Brexit, the Gov is trying to deal with the UK populace vote to leave the EU, which even a Labour Party would have had to deal with.

Go for it...????

We are discussing Brexit related issues. Look back over the various threads and you will see examples of the numerous problems that this has caused. One generic example being the problem of implementing the Irish Protocol.
