What nonsense and where is the link to that wonderful paper the star lol?

There are much more beautiful beaches in UK.

I was brought up Mrs Balmedie beach, where president Trump built a world class golf course, great beach.

I've a holiday home in Cruden Bay another great beach, also with world class golf course, designed by Old Tom Morris.

And what about Balnakeil? Great when no sideways snow.

Looks lovely but the water is freezing. I made that mistake at Morar.  ????

Thai beaches are #1 when it comes to salesmen pestering you every 30 seconds to buy useless stuff, even if you already told them a dozen times 'no thanks'...

Not to mention Thailand's first-rate ranking for beaches with seas full of sewage, turds, plastic bags, etc.

What a shame that these achievements weren't mentioned, or Thailand might have made top of the list...

How such utter tosh reaches the average reader such as ourselves escapes me….

Thailahd has great beaches, brilliant - but to use to a ridiculous & fundamentally flawed ranking system then present a story about it is moronic…

It reaches us, and we read it with the grain(s) of salt deserved.

Best of all, we don't lose face to admit that we read the tosh????

I've never seen turds on Thai beaches. Now, Puri, Orissa is another story.

These salesmen can't differentiate farang, as we all look the same.

I would have guessed Thailand had beautiful beaches many moons ago. Now with too many tourists, they are dirty and overused.

One improvement would be to ban smoking on all Thai beaches.

it has been banned for years smoking on beaches thats why i never go to a beach

In the water. Definitely in Pattaya. And I think, I saw some years ago in Patong too.

Have you ever been to Cha-am? The beach area looks like a rubbish dump.

Saw Chaam 20 years ago. I live 3 minutes from Takiab Beach in Hua Hin. Never even seen a dog turd there.

Couldn't agree more, take Pattaya for example, if they judged it on the amount of times the word w**k (rhymes with a piece of military equipment with tracks)   was used, it would actually be a good thing for most, however it could be interpreted as bad.

Armoured Personal Carrier? I'm confused!

Spain has also introduced a ban on smoking too on beaches. Its takes 9 years for a cigarette  butt to disintegrate until which  time it remains unsightly and toxic  to wild life. But I see no reason  why they shouldn't have smoking areas near the road side of beaches or near the  toilets.

Hua Hin (last time I went there, i.e. many years ago) was an example how Thailand's beaches could look like. Compared to other beaches it was very clean.

Thailand beaches - the hub of turd spotting tours?

1. If they are using Instagram as a source, all information should be discredited. Most Instagram users are under 15. I got this from a Meta representative. They own Instagram.

2. If Venice Beach is voted as number one, the survey should be immediately disqualified as nonsense.

Everyone knows this except the person that gave the rankings!

Things haven't changed much there. I saw plenty of homeless in that area when I was there in 1998. The beach appeared clean though (no garbage, at least).
