What would you tell your 18yo self?

Recommended Posts

Join the army. No seriously.

I come from a very poor background. I could have gotten an education, seen the world, and eventually schmoozed myself into a sweet do-nothing gig. Like in Okinawa.

Or Ubon -in the mid 70's? How fall-down great would that have been?

Damn you counterculture!

No wait, hippie nude women. And drugs. Call it a draw, decision-wise.

Joining the services was the best thing I ever did. Came out with a trade and an appetite for travel.

Pity about the <deleted> guys that run it. It could have been so much better and the senior NCO bullies were pretty bad.

I've had an adventurous life up until this point and wouldn't change anything about it at all.........BUT I would tell myself to investigate the share market and put a little money away on a regular basis, in a diversified fund for my future, and most importantly – DON'T GET MARRIED.

Invest in Oracle, Google, Intel, Microsoft and FaceBook (when they finally go public).

Intel is currently at the same price it traded at in the year 1999. Why?
