This is a real "only in Thailand" story, eh? ????

I say again. Thailand is real pantomime. Here with a wave of a magic wand or Rhythm Stick We have a poor monk transformed into a rich Barbie Doll with a magnificent coach. No doubt her handsome prince will come. Pun?

When I read that somebody pays millions in cash (meaning physical money), it leads me to believe that this might be income from illegal sources (to not leave traces the person didn't deposit it in their bank account).

But the person in the article just transferred the money from their bank account and didn't pay cash.

I hate to break it to you, but if the buy wasn't by credit, whether it be by check, cash or a direct deposit from the bank, it's cash.

Not according to various dictionaries. Just one as example:

"cash

money in the form of bills and coins, rather than checks or credit cards"

Provided she has paid all the relevant tax on her income, no one can complain.

I am sure the Revenue Department will be able to confirm this.

I am confused by she--are ladyboy now   she?

But then I refer the honourable gentleman to the following common usages :

Cash is king

Hard cash,

Will Sir be paying by cash or credit card ?

There also often being a checkout lane in supermarkets designated "cash purchases only".????

How do you know he was a poor monk?

My speculative guess would be a large portion was donated from his former parish.

Wasnt high enough to amass the gold bullion/land and helicopters of others, cashed out early.

Are you suggesting he stole it?

So if great gobs of money (meaning stored physical cash) come from a bank account, it's assumed to be all legal?

I'll need to keep that in mind when shopping for a new mattress.
