The voting ended with 287 votes in favor, 1 abstention, and 1 decided not to vote. The bill was passed and approved by the oppositional parties’ MPs despite the fact that it was slightly amended by the Senate in the previous committee consideration as it mainly seeks to criminalize torture and enforced disappearance by the state. The bill will be passed to the Prime Minister for submission for a royal signature before being published in the official Royal Gazette for enacting the Act.
