Daily News Thai Caption: Lomsak Pool Villa!

A man in the north east of Thailand took to his Facebook page to take several large swipes at authorities in his area who have failed to address constant flooding.

It was a beautifully ironic video as Somkeat Kom-aem wallowed in water up to his chest in his front room.

He said: "We're now open it's the Lomsak Pool Villa na khrap, the only one of its kind in Phetchaburi. "In 3-4 days we'll have a special promotion - free mud spa treatment.

"Don't worry about food we have it all."

He produced a fishing rod commenting that if there are no fish not to worry, there are more than enough centipedes and snakes for the discerning diner.

"Water? There's plenty of it," he said as he grabbed the filthy brown liquid all around him. "You can filter it yourself".

He then had a more serious dig at the authorities; it was a post that got much interest from netizens and inspired Daily News to make a visit to the downtown area of Lomsak, NE Thailand.

The water had receded and it was now just muddy and dirty and Somkeat, 50, related how it was the same for every year in the 30 years he'd been there.

The wealthy could raise their houses, the poor just had to suck it up.

He said there was flooding at his house 4-5 times a year and the worst was in the year of the great flood - 2011 - when he was inundated nine times.

So he has a swimming pool inside of his house now, will be great for the resell value.  This Government is doing a pisspoor job of helping out it's citizens who are enduring one crisis after another, but hey lets subsidize the diesel fuel and give traveling thais half off...

Stubborn guy.

I'd have moved 29 years ago.

Phetchaburi must have moved since the last time I visited.

The only reason they subsidised diesel was not to help the diesel smoke belching pick-up drivers, that was just propaganda.   It was soley to ensure that the big business conglomerates profits were not hit by increased fuel costs for the food/product distribution to their businesses. Consider the stock turnover of the likes of CP Group and Central group to name but two and the numbers of HGV's required to distribute it all. There you have the answer.
