Fatal Crash: Pickup Truck Collides with Motorcycle & Electric Tricycle in Amnat Charoen
Pictures from responders. A crash occurred on November 28, at approximately 06:50, on Chayangkun Road near Ban Non Nam Thaeng School in Mueang District, Amnat Charoen Province. The collision involved a blue Mazda pickup truck, a motorcycle, and an electric tricycle, resulting in three injuries and two fatalities. The injured victims were identified as: • Mr. Chinnakorn Sopamas, 41, the driver of the pickup truck, residing in Na Chik Subdistrict, Mueang District, Amnat Charoen. • Miss Parinyakorn Wongsawaek, 11, a passenger in the truck and a resident of the same subdistrict. • Master Phupha Sopamas, 10, also a passenger in the truck and from Na Chik Subdistrict. Emergency responders from the Non Nam Thaeng and Phet Kasem rescue teams worked swiftly to free the injured individuals trapped inside the overturned pickup truck. They were transported to Amnat Charoen Hospital for medical treatment, where their conditions are reported as stable. Tragically, two individuals were pronounced dead at the scene: • Mr. Heng Kanyamasa, 77, a resident of Non Nam Thaeng Subdistrict, Mueang District. He was driving an electric tricycle when the crash occurred. • Ms. Orawan Promnam, 22, from Kai Kham Subdistrict, Mueang District, who was riding a yellow motorcycle at the time of the collision. Witnesses at the scene reported that the pickup truck driver lost control, possibly due to excessive speed, veering off course, overturned and colliding with a concrete, trapping its three occupants inside. As the truck rolled, it struck the motorcycle and electric tricycle traveling along the road, violently throwing both riders and their vehicles onto the grassy verge beside the road. Rescuers performed CPR on Mr. Heng and Ms. Orawan, but their injuries were too severe, and both were pronounced dead on the spot. Local authorities have launched an investigation to determine the exact cause of the crash. Preliminary reports suggest speed and possible driver error as contributing factors, though further analysis will confirm the details. -- 2024-11-29 -

Controversy Erupts Over Release of Terrorist Linked to Manchester Bomber
Much as it pains me, he has served his full sentence. If he has committed another crime then try him and send him back if guilty. This time for long enough so that it's the Parole Service who decide his release or not; they seem far better to judge the risk to society than the rest of the criminal justice system. -

Trump Praises Agreement with Mexico’s New President to Curb Migration
And what are liars usually doing? 😀 Trump claims a win on immigration after a call with Mexico’s president. But she suggests no change "President-elect Donald Trump declared a win on stopping illegal immigration through Mexico on Wednesday after talking with that country’s leader. But Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum suggested Mexico was already doing its part and had no interest in closing its borders." https://apnews.com/article/trump-mexico-tariffs-sheinbaum-fentanyl-5fd2fc21950f47e5dbaf5c062c4725b7 Mexican President Clarifies Stance After Trump Says She Agreed To ‘Effectively’ Close Southern Border "Shortly after the call, Sheinbaum issued a statement on X saying she had an “excellent call” with Trump where she addressed Mexico’s strategy on the migration issue and informed him that “no caravans are arriving at the [U.S. southern] border because they are being attended to in Mexico.” https://www.forbes.com/sites/siladityaray/2024/11/28/mexican-president-clarifies-stance-after-trump-says-she-agreed-to-effectively-close-southern-border/ -

British Man Arrested for Overstay and Insulting Phuket Officials
Picture courtesy: Novosti Phuketa A British man was arrested on 27 November at Phuket International Airport for violating Section 81 of the Immigration Act (overstay). He had stayed in the country 130 days longer than permitted by the stamp in his passport. The Immigration Bureau’s passport control unit at the international terminal reported the arrest. According to the report, the man was detained while undergoing departure control. It also mentioned that the 37-year-old British man insulted officials performing their duties. After the arrest, he was taken to Sakhu Police Station to face formal charges under Section 81. While this section allows for imprisonment of up to two years, courts usually impose a fine of 500 baht per day (capped at 20,000 baht) and deportation. Until his deportation, the British man will be held at the Immigration Detention Centre (IDC). Under the Good Guys In, Bad Guys Out policy, any arrest for overstaying carries an additional penalty: a re-entry ban of five years for overstays under a year or ten years for overstays exceeding a year, reported Novosti Phuketa. -- 2024-11-29 -
