SRT warning: Stop playing chicken with the trains!

The spokesman for the State Railways of Thailand (SRT) issued a warning to young people who have been filming themselves playing chicken with fast moving trains.

 

Videos have appeared on TikTok of the highly dangerous activity.

 

Ekkarach Sriarayanpong said that this had caused a driver to sound his whistle to warn the youths.

 

The incident that sparked the concern happened at Sikhiu station in Nakhon Ratchasima, or Korat, in Thailand's north east last Thursday. 

 

It involved a diesel express travelling between Udon Thani and Bangkok.

 

Siam Rath noted that there is an ongoing fair in the area between last Thursday and next Wednesday and this has put youth in high spirits.

 

The media noted that this was not connected to the "three beeps" for truckers craze that was criticized last week and reported by ASEAN NOW.
