The Thai Baht continued its dip as the new week starts and Kasikorn Research Center has come out to say that it expects the Thai currency to slide to as low as 37.80 Baht to the US$ during the course of this week.

 

Thai Baht, which on Friday broke through the 37.50 Baht to the greenback was trading at 16-year low of 37.63 this morning, the last time it was trading at this level as in early September 2006.

 

Kasikorn Bank came out to say that it expects that during this week Thai Baht would trade around 37.00-37.80 Baht per dollar.

For reference purposes I always use current market rates (xe.com).

Of course Thai Bank TT rates or even cash rates worse and lagging behind.

Which at 4.23 today is showing 40.69. If I transferred my usual 600 sterling at the end of the month then I'd get 900 baht less than a month ago. But I'm set to earn a very decent amount in US$ so I won't.

How is the USD heavily manipulated?  Unless your talking about the rising interest rates, which are not manipulating anything, and neither is money printing, I believe you are confused.

For that to happen, in reality, The Pound would need to strengthen. Imagine where we would be if the baht had not also weakened relative to dollar......

My UK pension has lost about 7% value here in the last 2 months. This surely will impact many...Cheap Charlie's may not be cheap enough!

THB still weaking to the USD

USD still gaining on the Thb, might be 38Thb to $1 sooner than the banks think.
