The best place was said to be in soi Diana - I don't know if it survived Covid.

The yellow TT boxes always give a fair rate of exchange.

Do you know the name of the Soi Diana one? Was it also TT Exchange?

No, I think it was independent and was located on the left (towards 2nd) just after Areca Lodge and just before the bar complex.

As said, the yellow TT Exchange are best. They also publish their rate every day on Facebook so you know what to expect

Damini, http://www.daminiexchange.com/ a relatively new place on Soi 13/2 (Soi Post Office) & offers slightly better rates than TT but as other's have said TT is a good place to go (Be careful that you are using a TT booth as there are other Exchange places with almost identical looking booths).

Thanks, looks like Damini is way better than TT.

Wow, they've got such a tight spread of 0.01 between the buying of AUD (24.66) and the selling of AUD (24.65)

TT Exchange is buying at 24.30 so Damini gives you an extra 360 baht per AUD$1k exchanged.

The Damini Rate in the link is from 10 Sep, whereas the TT rate above is 27 Sep

Ah yes, you're correct. I didn't look at the date stamp on their site.

Looking at TT Facebook page, rate was 24.57 on 10th Sep, so Damini was only 90 baht higher per AUD$1k exchanged.

The common TT places are always mentioned as offering good cash rates... beware of copycat places with a similar name or appearance. I have heard of another place located on Soi Post Office called Damini... located just after the P.O. heading towards 2nd... you might want to compare what they offer.

That's true, but some are better than others, if you have time check a few out and use the one with the best rate.

My research for years running around there might be a independent one giving better than T. T.  But it is rare unless it is next door to where you are staying. Down W. S.  Beach Rd,  all along Buakhao including Soi Diana best rate pretty much all the same is T.T., the T. T.  At Big C Klang give a bit lower than the rest usuall .10 from my observation.

Exchange - open 24 hrs - on so I 13/1  so I Lost Office. The T T exchanges on soi 13 & 14 as well as independent one in front of Vill a Market, have the best rates - by 5 satang - I have seen. There are 2 exchanges on soi Pattayatai, near sou Buakh ao" intersection that are very good too.

Thanks, reference to my remarks and topic?

Is it one of those who give better or equal rates to T. T.  Or it just opens 24/7?

Post Office is on 13/2 so I guess you mean the already mentioned Damini Gold shop and money exchange?

Well, if you call 0.03 to 0.05 per USD/EUR/GBP "way better" then yes.

I would call it a tidbit better. Worth the walk if it's about significant amounts.

Otherwise a small bottle of water for the walk will eat up the difference.

But indeed on last visit no exchange beat Damini in Soi Post (13/2).

I read that they are open 24/7. Didn't notice that.

0.05 to 0.06 difference.

That's 60 Baht for 1000 Dollars.

If you're going all the way to soi post office to save 60 baht on US$1000 (whereas TT are everywhere), you might as well go to Bodega Bar on the corner for your "free" 60 baht beer ????

What is this 'all the way to soi Post Office' thing.....? It is quite central.

Well if I'm on soi bukhao with 5 TT's I'm not walking all the way to soi 13/2

I go to Bodega Bar a lot though so might check Dimini while there if I remember

Fair enough.... but some folks stay at the Hilton or near the beach. Not much to do on Buakhao in the daytime so a stroll to save 2 cents is OK! I used to walk quite far in my early days to change my travelers cheques, pre TT days.

Any recommendations on the best place to change foreign currency to Thai baht in Pattaya?

Do you have a magic wand?  if not just stroll on down to the nearest SuperCheap, they usually have the best exchange rates. However with that said maybe there is not one nearby so:
