Arrested In Police Checkpoint With Illegal Viagra

Featured Replies

Issues huh! It would be funny to write it here but no!

So, for example, I can go to the local chemist & say I'm having "issues" with ADD & get presribed medicanal quality amphetamines in whatever qty. I wish to purchase?

No need to be certified by a Doctor?

Soundman.

No, I'm saying you'd need to have a prescription (from a doctor) for it to be legal. For those, you would probably want to start at clinics that specialize in weight loss. But again, even going through legal channels, it's not a license to distribute.... and even in the wild east, there's no such thing as an "unlimited quantity" prescription. :o

Easy access in small quantities of prescription drugs for personal use without prescription and without danger of getting in trouble for that small amount is about as good as it gets.

Again, for the criminal entrepreneurs out there, unless you're connected... you're setting yourself up to be a newsclip on the evening news. It might be several months, it might be years and years... but the odds are stacked against you, especially if you stand out.

:D

Who needs viagra ?

Ciallis is much better, with longer lasting effect. :o

Depends on what is in it. But count on at least a few years and a fine and they wil be blacklisted. Better to pay up. I doubt that they want bail, I suppose they want to clear. Besides Thai jails are not healthy, and the hospital bill might be well over that amount when they come out.

I agree these guys are in for a long battle that they will ultimately lose. Get some money stashed away so their jail time might not be so terrible.

An acquaintance of mine brings some Viagra from Cambodia for sale on the international market. Yesterday he and another guy was stopped in a police checkpoint close to the border with around 300 pills. They were arrested and brought to jail. The police want 100,000 THB for the bail.

Any hints about what kind of sentence the might face? Or any tips of what they should do.

Why from Cambodia? Is it cheaper than in Thailand?! People are weird! Why didn't this guy do his business from here? Or maybe I don't know and this kind of pill is no more available in Thailand?

They are ok!

They had to pay bail 60,000 THB. The police took them to the bank to sort it out. Then they have to go back for court in a couple of weeks.

The sentence is gonna be a fine like 5,000 THB each, and they will get the bail money back.

Getting bail money back, You are joking of course.

Did they get their passports back?

These comments maybe a bit harsh?

What do the Police do to thais who hawk viagra, panagra, fill in the blank __-agra, on Sukhumvit Road, Soi Nana, at Patpong and around Soi Cowboy like it's Tic-Tac candy? They turn a blind eye of course, because they are thai.

I see the same couple of thai guys nearly every time I go out of my Soi, with the same line, "Only one box left", blah-blah-blah.. The stuff they're selling is the same boxes as the Cambodian stuff people who visa run drag back by the bag full. Same crookedly copied insert, same scratched out and re stamped expiration date, etc. I've seen him stand BESIDE Lumpini Police officers, while continuing to hawk his goods.

Oh wait, I forgot, he is a thai, so he should automatically be treated different. He is under-educated, has little opportunity to better himself, and of course was forced by society into selling generic or fake viagra to sex-tourists to continue fueling the billion-baht money train to นคร ไม่มีที่ไหน อีสาน.

The number of people bringing back vitamin-v from the land border crossings is HUGE. When I visa ran last month I saw someone with over 20 boxes on the bus coming back from Cambodia. It is far from an isolated incident. It is also far from something the Police even look for unless someone is really bringing back an overly large amount or of course failed to offer to cut them in on a piece of the proverbial pie.

The OP's story rings too much of someone tipping off the Police.

I did visa runs last year from Pattaya to Cambodia. The company was the most popular one operating, forget the name, but every trip the lady outlined the quantities of different things we could bring back through the border check point. Cigarettes, alcohol, and viagra were mentioned. She used to say one box of viagra was OK, using box in the same context as she did with cigarette cartons (she said box of cigarrettes meaning carton). Now box would seem to mean only the 4 pills but then on the other side one of the sellers told me it was 1 carton box which would be 10 x 4 = 40 pills. ??? Anyway the stuff is dirt cheap over the border, 100 baht for the 4 chinese viagra pills which are the real deal, same chemical drug is used and I can atest to the effectiveness. I didnt bring a carton through but a couple of small boxes.

It's probably a lot safer with the Visa run company, they piss in the pockets of the boarder guards and sort everything like that out. I'm pretty sure if you were over they'd get you by without trouble on the basis of a misunderstanding.

Why is it off-topic? I'm painting a picture of the types of idiot who might pull this kind of stunt. Think of it as local colour.

Given the nature of the drug, could we expect the painting to be using a firm and stiff brush stroke, and an interesting use of colour and texture using a new medium on a skin type canvas?

These guys should be farging thrown in jail and/or deported. Feel sorry for the 'guy along for the ride' but let's face it, for all the s&*T that Thailand is getting in the 'they don't hold up IP protection' 'they are going for compulsory licensing' blah blah blah then all the drug dealer threads 'all evil' 'society hates them' these clowns are guys who are clearly profiting illegally from drug smuggling.

I think a few of the posters giving advice on how to get out of this would be well advised to check whether their moral compasses still face north.

Despite corruption of the police, these guys did the crime; AFAIC they should do the time.

Their certainly fueling the negative stereo types of Thai's who've seen too many problems with ferang.
